Tons of Crappy Submits Lately??!!

Anyone else seeing an influx of cheaply designed, not following the rules, basically crappy submits lately?

Not sure where they are coming from, but I'm seeing 100-200 crappy sites a day. Blacklisting as I go, but they seem to have their own domain farm they are harvesting from. |club|

Surfn 2005-12-29 01:52 PM

I use to before I went to partners only :)

stuveltje 2005-12-29 02:39 PM

well what i see is tons of new name submitters and all not by the rules...i started to notice this about 3 weeks ago at some of the linksites i do, totally new people

sue-fl 2005-12-29 04:25 PM

Well I think people are picking on me |angry| The other day I went to do my submits and got so excited as I had 104 waiting to be reviewed! Out of all those I think I might have listed 20-25 |huh

Hey daureutwo are you still listing on your site? I haven't got an email from you in forever and have listed many sites. My mail is giving me headaches though and not letting a lot of mail threw like it used to. Thanks!

Lately? Like since 2001? :D

MadMax 2005-12-29 06:06 PM

It's been worse lately. I suspect the Borsht Gang, since all the crappy submits seem to have the same basic layout, but I can't prove it since they're hosted in different places with different sponsor codes.

well it does make you think something fishy is going on, mmmm about 3 or 5 new submitters a day yes, but about 50 or 70 new submitters a day with same mistake.........NOP:D but then thats why i have the emergency button ( did i say that right?) the blacklist button:D

I'm inclined to agree Max...the sites do have that a definite 'sameness' in some ways and invariably fall outside the rules in one way or another or several.

Going to partner submits only with Smiling Pussy Links was the best move I've made this year. Before that even I got my daily bunch of "throw in the bin immediately" sites from guys with a gazillion domains, email addresses and IP's. All auto-submitted ofcourse :)

The one thing I am seeing and not sure if others are seeing this as well...but despite the notation on our submission form to have submitters complete their descriptions with a "period" is beyond my understanding why they don't...all I know is, that as of January 1st, any submissions without periods will be rejected. I just don't understand it...

Anyways, as for poor designs of sites, one thing I am about to do with my design business is to start creating new Gallery site templates with flare and pro styling...I've already had several webmasters request sites so obviously taking the hassles of comingup with design ideas is getting boring for most now... I have a feeling I will be busy. But I do see sites that are poorly designed....

I was just thinking about that the other day...when I first started -& spent 1/2 hr on each LLs rules lol- I noticed there were some that specifically stated NO punctuation, and others that didn't say anything. I copy & paste the descr from my metas when I'm subbing so there's no periods there. There's one other LL that I can think of that requires a period, so I just remember to put it in for that one, otherwise - no periods. I think it's just another reminder to read the rules carefully at each LL, which obviously they're not doing in this case. (which tells you something anyway, doesn't it)

on another note - I'm getting a lot of subs where the images are broken on the site - not the linked pics, but the banners/thumbs themselves! Doesn't anyone look at their stuff before they submit it??|dizzy|

oh wait...I know the answer to that |banghead|

If I did that I'd have absolutely nothing listed! When I first started approving I used to edit each description to add a period, now if it's close enough I don't care and let it go as is. If a surfer is so anal that he won't come back to my site because of a lack of a period in the description...he's a whacko! |loony|

The trend I've noticed lately is people signing up for partner accounts and then never submitting with them. After a few months I will probably purge those accounts.

Partner only does help reduce the problems, but IMO it also reduces the number of submitters over all, because some builders don't want to be bothered with one more password to remember or logging in.

stuveltje 2005-12-30 04:00 PM

i decline more then i list at the linksites i do, on my own lls i still dont wanna do partner submit, yeah i was thinking to use that at stuveltjes-porn.com...i dont know, maybe i like to torture myself when i review, but then i get realy good payment for the linksites i review to check the shit submits so i dont mind.yeah yeah i am a money whore, but thats why i am in this bizz:D

Hey Preacher, |waves|

You know what's kind of funny? I was just reading that thinking, omg, who would sign up for a partner account and then never use it?! |crazy|

So I went to sign up for one and it told me that my username was already taken... I'm thinking, what are the odds?

I tried to log in and low and behold I signed up for a partner account that I have never used at the end of November! |loony|

So I apologize for that, I guess when I was putting together my recip tables your recip dropped from my universe. Anyway, you'll be seeing some submits from me in the next couple of days! :)

I just want to say..my lack of a period was an honest typo and I will resubmit with the corrected version. Sorry about that! |waves|
