There is no need to be fancy or long winded. Just something simple like "If you are not considered an adult in your community please leave".

You can make it much much longer and much much more explicit if you like. Plus there are free warning texts on many resource sites.

Freel free to view source at http://www.whoringwives.com/ and grab that warning box and the text below it if you like. Just make sure you change "SITE NAME cannot be held responsible for your actions." to your site name or I'll come after you. ;)

Thanks a lot Useless!

I tend to add keywords to the warning. EG: instead of "you must be over 18 to enter this site, it must be legal where you live to view pornography, you must not be offended by pornography......" I would use something like (on a lesbian site) "you must be over 18 to enter this lesbian sex site, it must be legal where you live to view lesbian pornography and other pornography, you must not be offended by seeing lesbians performing lesbian sex acts......"

How about the exit links? Where do you guys send that traffic?

Surfn 2006-01-11 03:38 PM

I don't use exit links. The surfer knows how to hit their back button. I always considered an exit link as an unnecessary traffic leak.

I know it is a traffic leak, but isn't there a rule on some LL that you must have an exit link?

That's why I was wondering if anyone if making $$ out of this.

I haven't seen any rules requiring an exit link on free sites. I've never used them on my free sites.

ecchi 2006-01-11 05:40 PM

I have several non adult sites that I sell advertising on, so I usually send exits there as I make a few cents out of it. If you do not have non adult sites, why not sign up with a non adult sponsor and send them there? Although the majority refuse to allow you to do this, when I last tried them there were some who allowed their ads on adult sites (although it is a long time since I last looked into this).

That is an excellent idea and I've done it with some SEO'd free sites, but I've been known to be a bit lazier when it comes to my older, bigger sites. Thanks for adding another thing to my todo list. ;)

I used to go overboard on adding keywords to my warning text, and there's nothing wrong with doing it --- BUT personally I consider it hidden text especially if you stuff the warning text in a tiny textarea. If SE can see it but a surfer can't or probably won't, it's as bad as putting red text on a red background.

I only use an enter link; if they don't like my free site, they can backpedal to the LL that listed me.
