Last June, there was a webmasters gathering down in San Diego. Who ran that and is it happening again this spring?

hope you dont mind the question on the thread, but I thought maybe others would like to know as well.

Is there a group rate for the hotel?
And while I know the preference is to stay at the actual hotel of the event, are there reasons other than that for not talking a hotel that is walking distance away?

Yup... we have great rates... same as last year. You can take another hotel if you like but the closest one is a long walk and not recommended. Costs more too. We have the whole hotel.

Cybernet Expo is one of my fav shows. I went last year and was one of the sponsors. I think this years show is going to be even better.

well is there a number/code for the group rate?
I didnt spot it on your webpage. And the best rate I got was via AAA and that was $188 a night. if you have a code to enter in, that would be great. Not spending two bills a night would be a big help.


FYI - according to maps.yahoo.com - the next closest hotel on that strip of the marina is The best western that is 0.5 miles away - it has $140 a night. (0.5 miles is the distance from the venetian casion floor to the sands expo door to AEE)

PS:if there is something to know about not being a guest of that hotel that will effect our show attendee status, that info would be good too.

Registration hasn't opened yet. When it does (next month) rooms will start at $145 / night. When you call in your reservation, just say you are with Cybernet Expo and you will get the lowered rate of $145/night if you take a standard room. If you are ok with a 1/2 mile walk to save $5... hey... more power to you :) It is a nice walk though. Really wouldn't make sense though considering we have the whole hotel. Much more convenient to just stay there.

Ahhh... LOL... well if someone needs a lot of rooms, we could probably work something out. That's never been an issue with us before. And truth be told, I wouldn't recommend that any company bring more than a few to a half-dozen people.

Part of our company is based in San Diego and I love this show. Always have found great biz there.
