anyone playing in the snow yet?

Just curious if any of you guys have seen any snow yet this year? Here in north-central Indiana we are in a winter weather advisory for tomorrow night and Friday for 4-8 inches of snow with 25 mile hour winds on top of that.

Time to break out the sleds. :D

Yeah I heard the weather is suppose to get nuts out there, I just got back from Jersey baby, and it snowed there yesterday, nothing earth shattering, but being from Florida, it was a good time seeing my daughter's eyes light up when she saw it for the first time.. |bananna|

No snow here and not expecting any snow anytime soon.

Here we are suppose to get between 6" to 8" (North Central IN) lol

Jim 2003-12-03 07:53 PM

We had 4 to 6 inches yesterday. We are expecting a nor-easter for Friday and Saturday.

Surfn 2003-12-03 07:56 PM

More likely than not you will Jim. Time to get the plow warmed up and make bacon sammiches. :D

dareutwo 2003-12-03 08:06 PM

No bacon sandwiches, but the plows are on.
Maybe 2" on the ground...
It's a bitch right now trying to make a snow fort for the kids.
Another 6 inches (Cleo - I'm talking snow here - and not the spam you get :) ) and it should be just fine.

Ahhh Surfn, I see you live in the same area as me.

I think last year where I live (Kokomo, IN) they said we came close to the all time snowfall for the year or at least close to the record. I'm pretty sure they said last year this area had around 50 inches of snow. Seemed last year that every weekend we kept getting those annoying 6 inch snowstorms.

And they say this year "might" be worse around here.

I don't really mind the snow though, I just can't stand the freezing rain.

Surfn 2003-12-03 08:52 PM

Last winter I was still recovering so I didn't get out much. All the crap we usually get passed south of us. :D I'm leaving in just over a week for the winter and I'll see this first storm then say "adiós" to the midwest until late spring. :)

I have nothing but green greas - very cold & frozen green grass, but green grass none-the-less :D

We got a touch of snow here in Seattle but it didn't stay around too long. Guess I'll have to head up to the pass for a little frostbite action.

Did I see 50 inches of snow mentioned??? We got 48 between Christmast Eve and Christmas. We had a total of over 120 inches last year :)

Surfn 2003-12-04 06:13 AM

Clear and dry as I type this, however, winter storm alert for today tonight and tomorrow. I guess we may get a blizzard. |santa|

Yeah.... we didn't get quite that much christmas, but a lot... I remember I sent some pictures taken during the drive up to my sisters, to a friend that lives in Vancouver, BC.... she asked me... 'don't they plow the streets there?' I just rolled my eyes lol (they don't get a lot of snow out that way....)

we got about like 105 inches last year.... missed the record by about 3 inches....

we're getting the snow tonight and tomorrow, but only expecting around 3 inches

50 inches of snow is a ton of snow where I live (obviously, it was a record in this area).

I remember back in high school, our school would get cancelled for just getting 3 inches of snow as they thought the end of the world was near or something. When I was a senior we ended up missing a total of 14 days of school. Got the normal 2 weeks off for Christmas vacation + 2 weeks off because it snowed every other day. Luckily, we only had to make up 3 of those 14 days. That was like a 2nd summer. :D

We Hoosiers aren't near as prepared for the big snowfalls as you New Yorkers. :)
