anyone run any "fake tgps"?
 

I have heard of a lot of people creating fake tgps, but I guess I don't really fully understand the concept of them.

I think I have a good idea why most people make them, and it's obvious that they are nice in the fact that you can create them and then forget about them, but I don't really know where to go about finding trades for my TGPs.

I know about the ask for trades section of this board, but I guess I was wondering if there is anything to them besides establishing some link trades and then forgetting about them, and let the SEs finally spider through them?

If anyone has any TGPs they would be willing to establish some hard link exchanges with, I will probably want to trade with you here in a week or so. :)

"fake tgp" is basically...

a site thats set up to look like a tgp, but in reality only lists your hosted galleries, or your own created galleries. Most people use a form of rotation script, whether it be a random link generator, or an actual link rotation script. But the idea is to "set it and forget it" once you've set it up, no work no hassel, you have a tgp and if you have traffic, you never lose any to another source.

I have fake tgps, link lists, free sites, galleries, etc.

Of course, not too many of them are made public to the likes of the board :D

I unsterstand what fake TGPs are, I was just wondering how many of you ran them, and if you set trades up with them or what.

I'm thinking of getting a bunch of fake TGPs up, but not sure if it would be worth my time if I can't find enough trades/traffic sources.

Do reciprocal links between them and your hubs and you should have plenty of traffic. |santa|

I obviously started with just my own galleries on my TGP with the hopes of getting submissions from others, and we're still in out first week, so it's still pretty early to see if we're gonna get many submissions. But I can't see how it would benefit you at all unless you had so much traffic you didn't know what to do.

Anybody wanna elaborate on how it would benefit a Webmaster?

fake tgps, would benefit the webmaster cause its only listing your own gallerys and sponser hosted gallerys.....often you have some sort of rotator that you add a bunch(100+ atleast) of gallerys to, so your tgp will look updated.......thus not taking any submissions your "tgp" would be a thumbnail gallery site or archive instead of post......but not to the surfers, thats 1 way of doing it......

OK, I get it....but how do you get traffic in, then?

I mean, I do sites at Metromen using content from my sponsor, but I list my sites on as many link lists as I can to get traffic I hope will then continue onto my sponsor's site.

I was only listing my own sites on Metromen and not taking submissions (which I am, by the way he said in a shamless plug), how would you get the traffic in that you're not letting out?

The point of fake TGPs isn't to do anything dishonest. Personally, I just don't want to spend the time babysitting my TGP because of cheaters. If it's all my own galleries (or some trusted friends), I don't have to worry about dialers, redirects etc.

I just started making fake tgps. It's pretty easy to make it look "real" with a little PHP. Randomly pick links to galleries, text descriptions and thumbnail images from files and it'll look different everytime the page is refreshed. Also, you can fill em up with hosted galleries and gain some traffic by adding recips to galleries you submit to real tgps.

to circulate the traffic you can also have a trade script that trades between your fake tgp's and maybe some other regular tgp's too......if you want to monitor the trades......

I have 11 of them at the moment. Reviewing sites is enough of a headache for me. Why bother reviewing peoples galleries that are probably gonna screw you anyway, plus there's barely any spillover traffic from galleries.
