Time spent submitting to LL's

How much time a day do you spend submitting free sites to link lists?

and part 2

How much time *should* I be spending if I submit 1 site to 100 LL's a day?

I don't submit my stuff to anywhere near a hundred lists.

I also do not submit a free site each day. I only submit something a few days out of the week and somedays it is a gallery to a TGP or somedays a free site.

On the days that I don't submit something I'm busy working on my infrastructure like hubs and my link list or just making up FPAs or something like that.

In answer to your question I guess it depends on who fast you type and how fast your internet connection is, lol.

Cleo,

You should have been a lawyer! I mean that with sincerity!

I would think that if you had all your ducks in a row & a nice list to go off of, that the actual submit time would be around 1 mintue each.

Of coruse, that's not counting going to find recips, putting them on your site, then uplaoding the sites, going back to submit to the sites that you put up recips for, etc.

100 link lists is a lot to submit a site to - and I hope that you're mirroring the 1st page 10-20 times so that there's not 100 recips on it - LOL

How many recips should I have on each of my index pages? What's the norm for most link list owners to allow?

Greenguy 2003-12-04 12:58 PM

I'd say 4-8 - maybe 10

I've seen pages that had 10 recips that looked beautiful & I've seen pages that had 4 recips that looked like a 2nd grader put them on there where ever he thought they looked pretty :)

I just recently took over all the submitting and making freesites from my old partner. She had a pretty good system going, but I refined it a little further :)

Here's couple of things that has saved me some time and sanity.

For every site that I will submit, I have a html page with 2 columns. 1 has a link to the linklist submit page and the other has the URL to my site where the recip is located for that linklist.

Make all the submit page links target="submit". When you click on the submit page link, it will pop up in a new window. Align it so it takes up 90% of your screen, the other 10% should be your submit list (you can get rid of all the buttons and bars in that Explorer window).

It's hard to explain it perfectly, so I took a screen cap :)

You could make it a page with frames too, I just decided to do it this way because some linklists "breaks out" of frames so it kinda fucks up the whole thing.

Now it's just to copy your URL from the "submit list" to the URL and recip fields on the submit page. No need to flip back and forth between submit page and a text document with the URL on.

Another great thing is RoboForm. You insert your title and description in RF and it will paste it in to the correct places. No need to flip back and forth between a text doc for that either.

Now when you click on the next submit page in the list, it will open in the bottom Explorer window.

What I think takes up a lot of time is flipping back and forth between a text document with your description, title and url and the submit page. It's pretty easy that you make mistakes that way too, especially when you are on your 70th linklist and your brain is getting quite dull ;)

I like this way. It's not very easy to make any mistakes (paste in the wrong url or only half the description for example), I can spend more time making sure they haven't changed any rules since last time I submitted. But most importantly, I don't lose my sanity every time I submit a site |bananna|

I thought that most link lists dont take mirrored index pages

thanks

I use this program

http://www.wavget.com/typeitin.html

It is well worth the 20 bucks it costs and saves me tons of time. I hope that helps.

As per what the others have said.......

Be organised and it will save you lots of time.. that can be used for more time-dependent things...

I submit something like a free site may be once a week, a gallery or two every few days..

Big time is saved by good tools like TypeItIn - http://www.wavget.com/typeitin.html

DD, beat ya to it. :-)

I just check their site and it is free to try for 60 days.

I usually go with 12 recips on each page, this is okay if you sort them so that the textlinks goes in one table, tabled textlinks in one table and buttons in one, try to make it look like it's not thrown together :)
