Free site attempt
 

Well, I made an attempt to make a freesite a long time ago. Submitted it, and sort of forgot all about it. I have a new found appreciation for freesites and I am trying to learn how to build an absolutely amazing one. Here is the link to the one I did.

Will LL owners even accept a site like this one? With one gallery that has photos and one gallery that has videos?
I really was shooting in the dark completely when I made it, any critique is welcome. I plan on making quite a few of these so please enlighten me!

I am just going to list the thing that will STOP you site being listed.... that should give you a starting point so that you can make adjustments if you wish.

* Site scrolls sideways at 800x 600
* Recips are below the enter link

* Difference in colour and design on the gallery pages - (may make some LL reviewers think you just plugged two hosted galleries into the site)
* Picture size = too big - http://www.laurensands.com/anal-websites/pics/1.jpg = 200K picture - should be <80K and preferably <60K
* Pics look like video screencaps - (not accepted by many linklists)

That's exactly what it is. I had no idea how to build these, and I see now.
I cant Believe the 404 on the videos!!! Fixed that, but I dont intend on submitting this one. So wait, should a free site be photo galleries only?
I understand the concept of each page looking the same. I appreciate the time DD!

A free site can contain photo galleries or galleries with video clips. Some folks do not like the formats to be mixed - as in your first attempt where gallery 1 is a photo gallery and gallery 2 is a video gallery.

A few tweaks besides what's already mentioned, nothing major, though its good to get in the habit of building clean HTML from the get-go:

• Unlink the 2257 and display the url only (optional)
• Change debauchery recip's text color
• "Holy grail of amateur anal" is blind imo.
• You forgot to remove your area map from pages other than index.html
• Remove name= from your tags, since you're not using any image maps. Since I'm guessing it's autogenerated, you might look into disabling that feature in your HTML editor.

You also might look for Arles, Photoshop or some other image editor. http://www.laurensands.com/anal-websites/pics/1.jpg at 329x496 should not weigh 199kb+.

also check the LL's rules page or any new info or recips - you have my old recip..

Lauren created the galleries and I sort of ploped them together in an attempt to make a freesite. She has a thing for HUGE file sizes! I am trying to curb her of that habit. That gallery was not for submitting, I will make sure and get all the most recent recips for everyone when we finally make all our HFS.
I just looked at the code, I see what your talking about, but why would I want to unlink the 2257?
I will make another freesite now that I know a lot more. Can't wait to hear what you all think then.

You don't need to, but its an option some free site builders prefer. For one its one less traffic leak on the page. It's also another link a reviewer has to check; some cheaters put ads in their 2257 page or might redirect the link after submission.

I thought I had to by law have the words 2257 compliance statement with a link to my compliance info. What are you suggesting? Just put http://www.laurensands.com/compliance.html and dont link it to that page? Seems like I would be out of compliance then, no?

I tell ya, cheaters have made my life so much harder, I want to start a collective of ninja hackers to give these people what they need. My foot up there ass!!!

I'll chime in with my 2 cents here.

I do list mixed content, ie pics for gallery 1, vids for gallery 2. Many LL's, especially the big ones, might not like that much. But, I'm pretty sure most the smaller to medium sized LL's would list it, providing you didn't break any rules. Or, keep it simple,and just use the same type on each freesite, probably the easiest way to do it. |thumb

Opinions vary on linking or not linking the 2257. Personally, when I do free sites...I do link it...to a plain white page with just the info...nothing else. Perhaps a slight traffic leak, but nothing there for a surfer to see...so I don't worry about that leakage.

Yes, the scammers/cheats/ASSHOLES have made things much more difficult for everyone |angry|
