Reverse Whois
I have been reading messages for a long time and I noticed people listing all the sites that some spammer had in a few threads. Is there somewhere that you can do a reverse whois... search by their name to get the sites they own?
Thanks. |

i didn't see quite what I was looking for.... I meant I want to search by the person's name "John Smith" to see which domains that person owns... is that possible somewhere? When I typed "John Smith" into the whois.sc it just generated similar domain names.

Search by name? Never heard of that. World wide there'd be too many matches. A domain is easy.

Did you get an account?
Was it a "silver" account? Once you know one domain that someone has, you can use the Reverse IP lookup function to see what other domains are hosted on that same IP address. With a regular account you can only see three domains. A silver account lets you see all of them, but you have to pay for the account. |
...and like Ramster said, I don't know of any search engine where you can type in a person's name and see all the domains they own.
Actually there very well may be one some day, but it'll probably be as wrong as the ones putting 7 year olds on "no fly" lists. |
whois.sc already has that info in a DB. Not sure why they haven't released a tool like that yet.

thanks simon ... that was what i was looking for.... just wanted to make sure I didn't have people reverse searching all the domains I owned.... or for that matter monitoring to see when I start in on a new project. (yes i know I can private register them)
