Good Chili Sunday Morning
 

We are off to a Chili Cookoff around noon for the Red Cross. All the local resturants enter and we get to vote for the best. They have an amateur division but I want to see the compition before I enter. They have these every 4 months or so.

So, like every weekend, I will be out of here at noon. Probably a little earlier so I can get ready.

Yeah cold as a witch's body part here too with the temp only 52F this morning.

Was bored last night. Went over to the local woman's bar and that just didn't do it for me so went down to downtown Fort Lauderdale and walked around Los Olas and Old Town. Saw a big group of people all around this place called Jimmy's. Turns out they have trannies in lingerie dancing on a stage and you can see it all from the street. This is in a mainstream conservative part of town so I was a bit surprised. Things sure have changed since I grew up here.

Trying to decide if I'm over this cold enough to get back to the gym or not. I'm still a bit congested so I may wait another day.

Espresso is now being served.

Windy and chilly here, gives me an excuse to get out my beloved sweatshirts that I barely get the chance to wear anymore. :D

Just getting ready for a show. But nothing else is planned for the day.

we got slammed with so much snow
over 2ft.. not fun.. I think I will wait till it melts..:)
I might have to defrost some leftover superbowl chili.
NBC HD had horrible video dropouts last nite during olympic coverage.

Well, it's just about that time. Off to the chili cookoff. There are supposed to be 25 Restaurants represented and no "Amateurs". I am just going to see how my chili compares with what they are calling "Professional Chili Cookers". I suspect, in 4 months, I will be entering for the ProAm cookoff :)

phew am I glad I don't live in Maryland. 82F yesterday, 52F currently. Argh.... I might have to wear long pants and turn off the A/C.

The Canada-Russia has to be one of the most boring ice hockey games I've seen. 12-0 to Canada and everyone that has gotten tackled so far didn't move for couple of minutes.

Morning/ evening friends. Not much up today but we went fishing yesterday, got one fish but it was a beauty! It was about 40cm long, 1.3kg Golden Trevally. As soon as we got home we cooked it up for lunch and there was enough to fill up 3 of us without anything else. We are trying to get out and fish every weekend now and I am lovin it! It was so fun we stayed when it started pouring rain while everyone else about was running for shelter.

Guess I should bring Carlos in before I end up with frozen parrot.

Just finished eating the very first vegetable rolls that I've ever made. Ended up having to put two layers of nori around the roll and put too much rice in it but besides being a bit unwieldy to hold with the chop sticks, since the roll was too large, it tasted surprisingly delicious.

Off to go bring Carols in…

Freeze warning in Broward County tonight...but still better then 2 ft of snow, don't care if it's powder..lol
