Cooking an egg with cellphones...is this for real?
I was checking out the sites on blinker fluid, and found this one
http://www.wymsey.co.uk/wymchron/cooking.htm a guide to mobile cooking which describes how you can use 2 cellphones and aim their antenna at the egg and call one phone with the other to cook the egg. They say you can get that egg boiling in about 3 minutes with a 2watt phone. Makes you wonder what a cellphone is doing to your brain. |dizzy| I had a friend years ago who had one of the first cellphones, you know the ones the size of a shoe? Within a few years after that, he went in for surgery to remove a brain tumor the size of an orange. It wasn't cancerous, but I always wondered if the fact he used that huge ass cellphone all the time if it contributed to it. |
Not sure, but I don't think you can even buy 2 watt phones anymore. If memory serves, many years ago (about 10) I had one of those hard wired into the car kinda phones and I think that was 3 watts. Now, I think the tiny little phones available are only half a watt or something like that.
I could probably cook an egg faster by putting it outside in the Florida sunshine :D |

no its fake
mobile phones don't talk to each other directly , they talk to repeaters , they don't put out 2watts full time , the power flucuates depending on signal strength then there is also the fact that mobile phone antennas aren't directional also mobile phones work down in the miliwatts |

Hell, I had a Mom who held babies under open cathode ray tubes as an x-ray tech...they didn't know back then that x-rays were harmful. Everyone she worked with died of cancer in their 50's she lasted until 76 before she developed cancer, I was truly amazed. It is experiences of friends and family like that that makes me read something like that and think, heh maybe this was written about the early cellphones, so maybe they could have cooked eggs. |huh |
