That was submitted on
2006-02-27 has been rejected.

* Site sets cookies

Could you please check that because I have never had problem like that...Even don't know how to make a site that sets cookies lol

Cleo 2006-02-27 04:46 PM

Odd, it's not doing it now.

I seem to remember the site you submitted the other day doing the same thing so I let it go.

Something on your page is 404ing and your ErrorDocument 404 refers back to http://www.adultmembersonly.com/freepasses/index_free.html which does set a cookie.

Check your server logs for hits on that page -- it is possible that you have a background image or something specified in CSS that isn't coming through. Possibly.... firefox is doing a search for favicon.ico and that is 404ing and then getting the cookie set.

And if Cleo didn't close her browser and already answered deny, it wouldn't reprompt her again.

ok, changed my 404 error page...check it now
and I have no idea what could 404 on my page...

Ok, found Firefox's exception list and cleared it. I didn't realize that Firefox keep a list of cookie exceptions.

This is the cookie that your free site tries to set.

Pendo 2006-02-27 05:08 PM

Is it doing it again after I changed my 404 page?

Cleo 2006-02-27 05:17 PM

Not doing it now :)

You can easily check for this in the future by telling your browser to warn for each cookie. Makes surfing really annoying so I do this with a browser that I only use for reviewing.

Hi Cleo,

Same problem here.
http://www.freeporncorner.com/tranny...nun-confesses/
Got rejected because it's setting cookies...

While my browser who warns me when a cookie is set keeps quiet. :(

Cleo 2006-02-28 04:49 PM

This is going to be fun… not. :(

Ok, here is what is causing this new rash of cookie issues.

I've switched to Firefox for doing reviews from Mac IE. Mac IE did not support favicons so if the site didn't have one that the browser didn't go looking for it.

Firefox, like all modern browsers, does support favicons so if your site doesn't have one your 404 page is called up.

If your 404 page is a paysite then the free site is going to set a cookie for that paysite without the surfer going there.

EIther give your site a favicon or call up a 404 page that doesn't set cookies.

Anyway the no cookie rule on free sites isn't a new rule but I'm catching a lot more since switching to Firefox.

Sorry about being a pain in the ass about this but I really can't go looking to see if the cookie is just some harmless cookie or is being written so that the next time I go to the site something else nasty is going to get served to me since now it knows I've been there.

There, favicon.ico added to the domain :)
Resubmitting site now.
