Go here.. http://www.traceroute.org/ chose a country that is not yours! and then try to do a trace to your domain. eg - select one of the links and it will open up a traceroute form, slot in your domain name blahblah.com - and it will show you a "trace" from where it is to your server. if it times out somewhere.. then there is a network problem.:( Also do the same from your own PC.. at the MSDOS prompt(assuming windows?) type traceroute yourdomain.com and it should trace the route to your server... again if it times out somewhere it might show you where the problem is. damn, i did a ping before and got timed out and now i tried your suggestion i got this back
Access: Denied Diagnostics: This page will not accept unqualified or invalid hostnames! dont know what it means. if it is a network problem what would that mean?? will it clear up on its own or do i have to do something. i can access anyother site but my own, and i can get to one site i have hosted with godaddy. i emailed my host again as well since he did a server change ths week but all has been well until tonite, but someone told me it might be a router problem on his end not letting me in. all i know is i am going crazy lol. |
Yeah its frustrating as hell when ya cant reach your stuff hey;(
K well if you are happy too..... post your site/domain.. and I/we will see if at least we can reach it.. Apart from that check your hosts file on your PC Do your normal anti-virus/anti-spyware stuff and cross ya fingers;) DD |
thanx dave! i just got email from my host and he sad to check hosts file going now. so far everyone else can get to my sites but me. here is my hub if you want to check
hubsite |
I can reach your site.
Just out of interest, have you tried running Ad Aware or Spybot S&D ?? |
I connect with no problems too. Sounds like a piece of crap site may have hijacked your browser. If you can FTP to your site then problem is soley with the browser/s.
|
Have you tried getting to your site without a firewall?
Slim possibility, but Norton (especially) does some strange things. |
i did run spybot and didnt work nothing got fixed, on the way to work :( i will try some things when get back.
|
Loads fine for me. :)
|
I also had no problem accessing this site and checked out your server company...still no problem with them either...don't know what the problem could be?
|
Three possibilities come to mind, the first you have probably tried, but incase you have not : If you are going to your site from a bookmark, you have checked that your bookmarks are correct haven't you, and have not become corrupted ?
Second possibility, it could be your ISP's dns lookup. My provider had a problem with that DNS server once where there were a few domain names it could not find. Third possibility, where is your server? Have you been able to visit sites that you know are on servers that are hosted by the same company as your sites, or companies in a similar location. I have had problems in the past when my ISP looses one or more of it's connections to a country. There is another possibility, but I do not understand it, so I'll just pass on what my ISP said. A few weeks back when a lot of sites were coming up "not found" even though they were up and running my ISP e-mailed everyone to say that this was the fault of a particular website, I cannot remember which one, and it was causing problems to several ISP's in that it was causing DNS lookups to fail. I have no idea how this is possible, or what the hell they were talking about, but it might be worth looking into with your ISP (then again it might not). |
the whole thing was spooky but it fixed itself tonite so i am happy. i thought it might be a router problem and it might have been but i could goto all sites but my own. but when i disconnected the router i did get to them, but then i had no phone so i thougt i would have to do something like reconfigure the router tonite but got home and everything is fine. i have no idea what happend nor does my host or isp it is like some kind of black majic lol. or your third suggestion. i am not sure about the country since my host uses multiple servers for saftey he is in thailand and also, co-hosted in texas so if there is a problem in either area the other server will take over. i just hope it doesnt happen again it was a real pain in the ass havent been able to do anything for a few days. it might have been some kind of dns error since he did do a server upgrade this past week but i was the only one who couldnt get to the sites.|santa|
