Free site re-review

Ok,I changed a few things in my free site.I know it's far from perfect but does it at least pass?:D http://www.dickheadshit.com/petitebeaver.html

That's certainly an improvement over your last version :)

I would hesitate to list it with that main page layout though...

Star Man 2006-03-03 06:08 AM

Ok,I cleaned up the main page(uuhh I think:D )Anyhow thanks for checking it out.|bananna|

Definitely looking better Star Man |thumb

A few comments;

Your recip table could use some tidying up...it's a bit messy looking now. Not bad, and I don't know that anyone would decline because of it. It's another one of those 'don't give a reviewer reasons to decline' things that pile up.

You have the word 'Enter' on a sponsor link on your entry page...that's an instant decline with most reviewers. Only the link to your main page may contain the word Enter. Also, having the sponsor link stacked that closely on top of your site entry could be considered deceptive by some. It's borderline for me...if that were the only problem...I'd probably let it slide. But, with the other issues already noted...that would push the site to the decline column. See how things pile up during a review?

Your main page sure feels like an fpa (full page ad)...which most link sites don't accept. Due to the way you've laid out your ads...it takes a bunch of scrolling to find the gallery links. The pic of the blonde on the right isn't linked...it's just a pic sitting there doing nothing. If you were to move the gallery links above her picture...you'd have a better chance of getting listed.

Your galleries themselves look fine. Although, you do have one more outlink allowed on those pages. I'd suggest you use it...either to add a sponsor link...or a link to your own hub if you have one. I'd be inclined to add a sponsor link to that text block you have between the pics if it were my site :)

Definitely an improvement over your first pass...still a bit of tweaking to do though |thumb

|bananna| SWEET! I'm going to tweak it just a little more according to what you said Mr. YUM and get it out. |headbang|

Yep!I see how all those things = a cleaner page though.
Hopefully I can make a buck or 2 now.|bananna|

Oh,BTW would it be a better idea to ditch the big pic and add thumbnails from my gallery on the main page next to gallery1 and gallery 2 or would that look cheap? Also for future reference,is it ok to use a little java on the scroll bar to match the theme of a site? Also how should I link back to my hub if I want to?A text Link?Build a recip button for my site? Its more like a tgp 2 is that ok?

Excellent...glad to be of help |thumb

Yup, having a couple sample thumbs from the galleries on the main page would be fine...see a lot of sites done that way. A personal preference thing here...if you go that route, I prefer to see the thumbs actually linked to the galleries. Some submitters put the thumbs on the page unlinked...with only a small text link below. I find that a bit annoying...though not grounds to decline the site.

Don't think you'll find anyone who allows java on free sites. It's been abused too much in the past, so that's pretty much a big no no :(

That said, when I've wanted to get the scroll bar to match the site theme...I've always done it with css.

I'm a big believer in text links...search engines read text...not pictures. You can indeed get good listings using images for links, but I happen to prefer text :)

Looks good...only thing I would say is the Adult Rental banner with the "text link" under it on your Warning page could make people think that is the enter link to your site...I noticed the Enter link is further down and flush with the bottom of the browser window and might be missed by some. The only other observation is that your 2257 compliant notice should always be linked to the actual info if you intend to offer that on your site.

But I have to say as well, compared to the one I saw in the other thread (I read through but didn't reply), this one is a lot better :)

Oh, the one big problem I just noticed....our banner isn't there ...lol ;)

Thanks man!:D Looking back now,I can't believe how awful my first attempt was. It's not like I was lazy or anything. The first one actually took me longer to do then the final one.|crazy| I think most of the problem was the fact that I didn't know rules(3 out links etc.) and that just leads to throwing crap everywhere and anywhere. Now that I know the basic structure of a free site, that gives me a foundation to build upon. And even though it still looks all "noobed out"|pokefun| |newbie| I'm glad it's at least passable|bananna| (for most hopefully)Also I thought I had those 2257's linked to my main compliance page.Opps|banghead|

LOL..funny you should mention it.I grabed the HTML code from your recip page and when I put it on my site it shows the button but it only says 69toplinks in text with a red x instead of your logo.|huh
Well anyhow I'm probably doing something wrong but once I figure it out I'm coming your way!:D

BTW,I have been working on some other free sites and was wondering if I can post them when I'm done with them for a quick review.Even though I passed on this one,I obviously have a lot to learn.Anyhow glad to hear the positive feedback|bananna|

Xeno 2006-03-04 05:03 AM

hehe ....red x means that you either didn't download the top portion of the banner or you didn't edit the tag to where you saved it ;)

As for posting more sites for reviews, go for it.

Star Man 2006-03-04 08:26 AM

Yeah, those specific step by step directions right above your buttons were sort of hinting at something like that also LOL:D Sorry,It's been a long night hehehe|loony|

Also, you don't have to actually link the 2257 info. Just put the URL in text at the bottom of the page. Some LL's will count that as a outbound link.

Xeno 2006-03-04 02:24 PM

a follow-up to DJilla post...not sure why some LL's think its such an issue, but you have a couple options to solve that ruling of the few (and yes you need to link it to the 2257 info):

(1) use relative url for the link
(2) put the 2257 link statement on the Warning page only (relative URL)
