Damn cron issues :(
I wanted to launch a tgp yesterday with smart thumbs5 and arrowtrader lite3 installed, 1000 galleries in the database, nice big thumbs, I was adding trades and all my thumbs disappeared in a heart beat.
The smart thumbs people have their birthday party and I am clueless here, must be some cron issue. The at3 should show all hits in the main stats area but it doesn't. Smartthumbs should update in every 2 seconds but it stopped. General settings read: "Manual index rotation Clicks to index thumbs refresh: 391 2006-02-26 23:16:01" Help file: "Clicks to index thumbs refresh # Count of clicks which you need reach for thumbs autorotation. This number is updated with cron. If you do not see that this number is decreasing every 2-minute then cron is not properly working and you have to check cron settings. # Date show you when was done last rotation." I have no idea where to check the cron settings, it is my first script. I must go back to the clinic soon.. any suggestions? |cry| |
Anyone out there? Do you hear me? :(

Open Terminal and SSH into your server and open a shell to edit your crontab. Vi is my editor and can be a bit confusing. Here is a page on using Vi.
http://staff.washington.edu/rells/R110/#basics5 SSH into your server ssh USERNAME@YOURDOMAIN.com HIT RETURN it will ask you for your password and not show what you type. HIT RETURN crontab -e HIT RETURN This should put you in your default editor which most likely is Vi |
Thanks Cleo... let me try it. You rock as usual :D

It is not even accepting my ftp password using terminal and SSH only via ftp. Giving up I think, I tried my best yesterday.

Wow my site is up and running again :) I had no cron job set up at all and wasn't even aware of it, silly me. Then a wise man came and waved his magic hand and fixed everything in a flash.
I am so happy :D |
