Moving Outlook to new comp ???'s

Got another computer to speed things up and multitask some more.
The new one is faster and bigger, so I'll make the new one the main one, and the other one set up for backups etc..

But I've never tried to move Outlook to a new comp.
Is there a way to move everything at once? I mean address book, all the old emails, folders etc?

Does this help?

Apologies if it's a waste of time.

The .wab and .dbx files hold all your important stuff dareutwo. I just replaced 2 boxes recently and that's the routine.

If you think they might get lost in the shuffle you can always email those files to yourself as an attachment. That keeps a safe copy on your MX server while you're moving/deleting/overwritting.

I was assuming OE was already on your new box. If not PM me and I'll send you a fresh ZIP.

I installed my old drive as a slave a few days ago, can't import anything with the 2 drives being in the same tower, so need to put the old drive back in it's original tower and keep my fingers crossed that all my emails are still there. If not there's gonna be a cuss-fest :D

I'm not hopeful....

Ok, it went well, but how about all the "rules" you know to sort the messages... seem to have lost all of those.

This is a teensy bit more complicated:

KG Gary - "teensy bit" is an understatement.

dareutwo - That's all part of your profile. Which it sounds like you've already changed either by error or omission, probably by accident. Sounds like you've complicated a very simple thing.

jel - sounds like you are probably trying to run 2 seperate copies of OE. OE is most likely trying to use two different registry instructions and becomes 'confused' with mixed instructions.

It's all fixable, ours works fine.

Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express?

Here are a few resources:

Once you get outlook moved, do yourself a favor and grab a copy of Eudora :) Not only is it a much better client but it is really easy to move.

Yeah, but doesn't anybody use all the other Outlook organizer features? My life would be a tornado without them. I used a Daytimer for 20 years and it took me forever to give it up. Now with Outlook on the PDA too, I would freak without that stuff. Any recommends for something to integrate with Eudora that does all that other stuff too?
