British Webmasters?

I have come across numerous guys and gals here in the UK, just wondered who hangs out here.

I know Beer and Bollocks is a big hangout for UK guys, just wondered if as many were here too?

KG Gary 2006-03-07 05:57 PM

I'm down on the south coast near Brighton
Still having trouble calling myself a webmaster at this early stage in my new porn career.
:D

Speaking of British Webmasters...
While you speak up saying you hang here, tell me something.
What is the reply to someone that says "Cheers" to you?
I know it means, "Thank You" in which I would say, "You're Welcome". But for some reason that doesn't seem to fit.

As most of you know, my wife loves Eastenders. They offer it once/week on dish network/pay per view. So, I am stuck sometimes having to watch it and I never hear a reply. :)

Firstly, I'm sure your wife is a lovely person Jim, but don't let her inflict that Eastenders stuff on you. That's just cruel.
:D

When someone says "Cheers" as a thank you I don't think any response is required. Maybe a "No problem" at a push, or more recently a "No worries", but usually it's a final statement of thanks that requires no reply.
:)

I just read the rest of the thread.. Eastenders and corronation Street are the biggest and longest running soaps here in the UK.

Going off the subject a bit here...
Cheers also relates to when they have drinks in the 'Queen Vic'.

I remember one time when i was watching some out-takes when Babs and Pauline Fowler tapped glasses and said cheers and they broke and soaked them both LMAO! |cheers|

Thanks, I have asked people before and really never get an answer.

damn.. I have been doing it all wrong, when a brit has said cheers to me I thought it ment, "grab a big stick and beat me on the head"

I'm one of the queen's loyal subjects, but I live in Canada. But I do enjoy Coronation Street now and again :)

I get stuck at times with Coronation Street too. There is a guy on there that talks a lot like Foghorn Leghorn :)

Yep, I'd say the same thing about the response to "cheers". I also find myself using "cheers" more and more in place of "thankyou".

Have to disagree with the Eastenders quote though :D

I have my Sunday organised with military precision... work in the morning, record Eastenders omnibus in the afternoon... exercise bike then soak in bath while it's recording... make full Sunday lunch with yorkshires etc... settle down with food to watch Eastenders |thumb
Sad... I know, he he.

Anyway, I'm up in Newcastle... the only other UK webmasters I know of are down south like you guys.

I'd just like to say that my grandparents came from Scotland, Ireland & Wales, so I'm very much a webmaster of UK descent |thumb

Wales! Woo hoo! I'm from Wales originally. Does this mean I have a real claim to fame? I come from the same small country as Greenguy's kin?
:D

Jim - Foghorn Leghorn has to be Fred Elliott I guess, but I don't really want to dwell on the Coronation Street stuff, it's too traumatic. :D

Hi Lisa! |waves| Thanks for listing my freesites!
