Weird referers?
Finding this in my server stats for boogie-blog.com is quite odd...
248: http://www.ms.gov/ 789: http://www.state.ms.us/frameset.jsp anyone got any guesses? freaking me out, but, i am paranoid oh just found http://www.france-airsoft.com/ bleh |
that would freak me out, i've seen ips from referrers come from .edu/.gov and shit like that, just ignored it tho
those numbers 248 & 789 is that how many clicks you got from those referrers? if so then i'd be totally freaking out!!!!! |

thx for the info BV, i never heard of that term before, now i know ;)

I've seen shit like that before. I was once told it could also be someone trying to hack into your domain scripts and using proxy (or whatever) so those fake urls show up.

We keep getting incoming traffic from the Atomic Energy Commission on a regular basis. From what I can tell, I think it's due to some "Atom Age" fetish references. Really was strange when we first started seeing them in the referrers.

Exactly, my guess is that a search engine query returns results for the Atomic Energy Commission as well as your site. Surfer opens the Energy site then opens your site. IE recycled the open window, thus showing the energy site as the referrer.

Atomic Energy Commission is also in my awstats.

Actually, the atomic energy one is the referer given by a specific "anonymous surfing" program. There may be an open proxy there, but the basic idea is that people can hide where they came from. I have considered re-routing these people directly to sponsors or something, as they obviously have something to hide.
