US Senate Candidate Wants Death Penalty for Homosexuals

TOLEDO -- Merrill Keiser, Jr., is a trucker by trade, and he's hoping his next journey takes him all the way to Washington. His goal is a seat in the US Senate, but first he has to make it through the primary that will determine which Ohio Democrat will be the November ballot.

The Fremont man is causing some controversy with one of his beliefs. He tells News 11 homosexuality should be a felony, punishable by death. "Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs -- we should have laws against immoral conduct," Keiser says.

Keiser has no political background. He says the only reason he's running as a Democrat is because that's how he was registered the last time he voted.

Keiser will face Democrat Sherrod Brown in the May primary.




OK< this guy doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning, but he probably will get a campaign donation from Fred Phelps. I want to run a campaign where one of my beliefs is that if you are a right wing evangelical christian you should be thrown to lions. And just to be fair, ultra orthodox jewish or radical muslim. I hope I got all my hate groups correct--it would be discrimination to put to death the wrong haters or kill some haters and let other haters live

I was thinking about starting a faith based charity so I can bypass all laws and get federal money.

This guys would be very popular in certain states.

Throwing a Christian to the lions would make them a martyr. Don't do them any favors.

that is so true. Just because someone has a lifestyle that is different, these people are offended and want those people offed. Who the fuck are they to judge anybody?

If they really are the Cristians that they claim they are, then let God sort it all out. Don't claim it's God's work you are doing... God can do his own judging and condemning. If He can't, then He is a lazy bastard.

he IS kind of a lazy bastard--he never did his own work. He was always sending the angel of death to do the dirty work, he was sending messengers all the time because he couldn't keep his appointments, and when it really got rough he sent his son to clean up the mess. These are things that an omnipotent diety should be able to handle on his own.

Usually they are people that see these other life styles as temptation. It's very possible that either this guy has dreams of homosexual experiences or he saw a homosexual experience that disturbed him deeply (probably because it was someone close to him).

Whenever you have the chance to really chat with these types of people it almost always come down to their own inner temptations. Otherwise why would they even think about?

Well - maybe ole Sen. Tim Wooldridge's bill for public hangings to come back will get some backing now in Arkansas :)
