Now a New Comparison - Do It Yourself

Lets see if anyone picks up on a good comparison to the words uttered by Rice today to anything said in the last uhhh lets say 5 years :)

Same senseless spew has come out of Bush's mouth for Iraq, Afghanistan, Bin Ladin... all the "financers of terror" and similar bullshit.

I hope more Americans can figure out when the "terrorist" boogie man is being served up to them.

At least they aren't using the term "Axis of Evil" this time.

One of the differences between now and a few years ago is that I have some belief that Iran may be trying to develop nuclear weapons. I know that there's not enough accurate reporting on the subject in the English language to draw an accurate conclusion.

A few years ago I knew without any reasonable doubt that there were no WMDs in Iraq and that Iraq had no ties to terrorist organizations threatening the USA. I felt many, many countries were posing a much greater threat to America then Iraq ever could after the defeat and 10 years of sanctions.

Sir Moby, but North Korea had actual nuclear bombs, but because of a lack of oil in the ground and no arab mulsim types like saddam or bin ladin, well, they just isolate the country and leave it be.

A major double standard depending on the proximity to oil and other "american interests".

The biggest problem with this whole Iran issue is that while the mainstream press seems to hang on every word the little idiot over there who spews about wiping Israel off the map and death to the infidels etc etc - he aint in charge over there - and the guy who is, well hes a good ole boy that actually gets along with Israel and the US and has pretty much supported us since the 70s. Rice is just playing up the issue in advance of the strike Israel is going to make - oh say around June this year if the IAEA doesnt figure out the nuclear mess - to make sure the US comes out smelling like a rose and doesnt rile up the Iraqiis next door (those people we put in power over there in the new democracy would crumble if we ever attacked Iran).

As far as Nuke proliferation - while I dont like any of it - I sure dont think the US has any right telling any other soverign nation what the fuck they can or cant do - and ought to just step back from the whole issue as most of the people in these other countries (well ok not the dictatorships - but then Irans not one of those) have enough common sense to regulate (as does the IAEA) what their own government is doing.
