I remember the fuss caused when a brief nipple shot was shown in an ad for shampoo. A few complaints later and it was, (possibly rightly), moved to a late night only slot, and then dumped altogether. I liked that AD!!! :D

The UK is a horribly strict TV censoring hole. While some welcome changes have come in recent years, (we now get legal porn in licenced sex shops classified R18), we are still miles behind when it comes to what is shown on TV.
Even late night "adult" pin-number-protected subscription-only channels don't show much - external cunnilingus, no penetration, and NEVER an erect penis! Plant pot softcore at it's worst!

Gary, in Montreal on the BROADCAST channels (specifically TQS) late night they run harder stuff than you get on PPV. Our pay channel movies (canada's version of HBO style stuff) is hardcore penetration gyno shots, anal, anything except male cumshots (men never are satisfied for some reason). It's just short of outright hardcore.

The french channels even run gay movies.

I would have expected the UK to be more liberal than North America. I love BBC. Whenever I'm watching one of those fashion makeover shows and the women complement "you have great tits" it makes my day.

I've seen more tits and ass on CBC (Canadian network) than many US cable channels show after 9PM. Just two weeks ago I was watching CBC Newsworld around supper time and the phrase "fucking indian" was said twice in a row during a story (about a corrupt, racist politician.) That would never fly on FOX News. People would be hanged by the FCC.

If I remember correctly CTV used to air The Sapranos around 9-10PM uncensored sometime through the week.
