Link List/Directory Script

What is the best link list/directory script? And maybe the second best too.

What script do you use?

Thanks

I am thinking of starting a LL with xpowerlinks if that's of any help, but I haven't got it yet :D

I just switched my link lists over to dragon list and LOVE IT! Support is excellent, it has a lot of features I didn't have in gossomar threads.

Check it out at Dragon List |thumb

I have been looking at k-links the only thing is you have to choose the category page and then login to submit, I don't mind the logging in but having to choose the category first is a waste of time

From a submitting point of view. I like Dragon List. It just has some nice info for the submitter regarding your sites.

Yep, I haven't used DragonList myself...but sure have heard a lot of good things about it. And it's backed up by a couple great folks too |thumb

I'm also searching for a search engine/directory script(I had a dream I built another google|bananna| ). I once tried WSN links for $60, it has lots of features I agree and excellent support but I later found that it's pretty slow after adding a few hundred links. For $25 bucks you can try phplinkdirectory.

Looks like you're using phpLD wazimm. Is that v2 or v3? It's kinda hard to beat their support.

I'm a stats junky. Dragon Links enabled me to set up a sponsor links in the categories of $1 or free trial, regular, then premium free sites (sponsor hosted free sites) I have stats showing how many page views of every site, vs how many clicks. I can look at category stats, user stats, etc and tell which categories are the most popular, what is getting clicked on the most.

Sponsor not performing? You can deactive a sponsor, and all their sites with a click. |thumb

It has a built-in link checker and blacklist function, which you can ban by ip, email, or domain.

It is very easy with php calls to intergrate with your templates.

You don't have to "build" pages like I did with gossamar threads, when you approve a link, it shows up instantly. :D I have over 10k links, I think it might be closer to 12k on redcherry, and it runs great. I just looked, I have close to 16k on redcherry.

Those are the features I like off the top of my head.

Kit-xxx,

It may be a little to late.

Stay away from anything turn-k. They have the worst tech support in the world.

I have them in my new site, and I am trying to get some custom programming. And I have to submit 30+ tickets and at least 40+ emails. before I even get an answer. And then I reply to what I am wanting programming wise And no reply.

It really is rather poor tech support. but you are your own person. Just be warned if you plan on using them.

I've been looking and asking questions for some time abut LL scripts. The one with most 'votes' from existing LL owners seems to be Dragon List by a long way. :)

A year ago I'd say Dragonlist. Today... I'd still say Dragonlist is what I'd go with unless you want to really play with options and add ons... In that case I might try a content management system.
