comparison tracking

Hey,
I've been wondering this for a while, when making gallery templates and ad pages how do you guys test your designs so you can see how the changes stack up. I know the SexList full site counter is nice but using their click code for tracking doesn't seem like the right solution. Any thoughts or ideas? All I'm looking for is something with a history so I can see the difference.

thanks

Hey Spud |waves|

Are you looking to track signups or just clicks?

BTW - nice to see you over here :)

Hey :)
Just clicks. It would be nice to find something that vs. impressions but I just want to see what's clicky for free right now :)

|afro| thanks adamneve, been the voyeur for a while, but I thought this would be a good place to post a question.

I'm not sure there is anything that would do what you want - I usually base if a design works or not on the amount of sign ups it produces.

Oh man..my coffee has not kicked in yet.. but i had to do a double take on this post..

My youngest son, who is 13, is named Spud and we currently live in seattle.. LMAO..

I mean we are a very open family.. we believe in being body positive, open communication etc.. and all my children know what i do for a living, we've had cam girls in and out of our place for the past 3 years..

but when i saw this post.. i really had to resist the urge to go seach his computer!!!

All Ive done is used sponsors sub tracking codes (the ones that offer that) and use a different sub code for each type of add and design. Like FPA, FPB FPC etc... for different full page ads.

Id love to know of another way to track and compare.

Hey docholly :)
I'm 31 so no need to fret... I've been Spud for over 15 years and it's kind of an oxymoron really. I got it because I'm pretty big and intimidating but a friend in high school decided that giving me the Nic of Spud would soften the introductions :) LOL

I'm surprised no one has a simple solution for this I thought I was just missing something. Oh well I guess making a tracking program for internal galleries isn't totally out of the question, was just hoping there was something already out there that I hadn't seen yet.
Thanks for the input.

I use a banner/link rotator: PHPADSNEW
on all my sites.
Advantages are many, disadvantage..is it took me a little bit to get my head wrapped around it. Tons of features.

Including: You can use text ads, banners ads, HTML ads, pop-ups, interstitials, etc..

Tracks all impressions vs. clicks on all ads.
You can serve it to your page using several different methods..including javascript

You can use it to sell advertising campaigns on your site...

Tons more features....best of all? Its open source...
Might be a little more than some people need (including me)..but the features it offers makes it worthwhile.

I can tell you exactly how many times..XXbanner was shown where it was shown..and how many clicks I got to it. Combine that with my server stats...I know exactly where Mr. Surfer enters....what he clicks on..and where he leaves...
