A couple of newbie questions..

Hi! I recently decided to make a free site, promoting some sponsor, maybe have a banner, etc...
I'm leaning toward topbucks.com as the sponsor, are they a good choice? How are their ratios(as in signups per visitors)?
Also, when searching for places to purchase traffic, I stumbled on http://www.chokertraffic.com/, any experience with them? I recall reading an article where someone wrote that they first test a number of sites from chockertraffic, see what rates they get for traffic from each one and then limit their purchases to them..
How does one monitor which referrers give traffic that actually signs up? What I have coded until now monitors referrers, the categories each user views, etc.. Any suggestions to buy traffic somewhere else?
For some banner advertising, I found adultfriendfinder.com, read somewhere they had some great rates..any experience with them?

Thanks for the help!

Top Bucks is a very good company & I do recommend them to people.

Choker Traffic is good for galleries, but I don't think they have a lot of traffic for Free Sites.

adultfriendfinder is banned at my LL so you wouldn't get listed :(

Could I ask why you ban sites that advertise them?

If you are asking me I don't ban the sites I just don't list them because the sponsor is banned at my link list.

This has been in effect for months http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...ad.php?t=28587

I always thought it was a little over the top to ban submiters from using a sponsor

So if Ultra Cash was still open, know how they fucked Jim, you'd link to people promoting their sites?

Greenguy 2006-04-07 12:17 PM

They are all different stories :D

It all boils down to how much the drama effected you personally :)

The submitters are not being banned, just not listed for using a banned sponsor. They are free to choose dozens of other sponsors.

Yeah I know, my line of thought was that personal experience might be a tad more helpful than an endless list =)
