Two sites and a question about recips

Put up these two today (not posted yet):

http://www.cumslutworld.com/galleries/popupassesxxx/

Had a bit of a problem with the recips here, many LL's don't have a "Butts" or "Asses" category so what should I put it under? I choose "Hardcore" though it's not very hardcore really.
Also some LL's have a "Movie" category, should I just post all my free sites under that category then?

MrYum 2006-04-13 11:18 AM

As to which recips to use, that's going to vary by link site. I do have an asses/butts recip, but as you've noticed, not all do. From a quick look, you'll probably be ok submitting to hardcore when necessary.

You'll run into the same thing with movies as you did with asses/butts. Not all link sites have a movies specific category. I mix movies in with the other listings based on niche and usually make a note in the site description that the site contains video clips.

Which category frequently becomes a common sense judgement call based on each specific link site.

You do have some blind links on the sites. Here's an excellent thread that discusses blind links and how to avoid them.

Hmmm...yea, that's about all I've got for now :D

People sucking and fucking is pretty much the definition of hardcore. You'll probably be fine submitting it to the hardcore cat most places.

MightyMidget 2006-04-13 11:37 AM

Thanks for helping out both of you!

About blind links: ok I see what you mean, so if I understand it correctly pretty much every link going to the paysite should spell out "this link goes here". I actually thought when I built the sites: "I've repeated 'See it at Bubble Butts Galore' a million times now, the surfer's going to be like: "Yes I *know* you're trying to promote that site now, thankyouverymuch" :)

But then again the surfer may not read all texts so thinking of that I see why all links should mention where they go.

I'll read that thread more carefully, thanks!

It's not that you need to say PRECISELY where it goes. The thing is you have to let the surfer know he's going to a pay site. Banners for instance, are not considered blind links because the surfer knows if he clicks it he will get to a paysite. That's why if you add a bunch of text like "high quality downloadable hardcore movies" right above or bellow the banner, glued to it if you want, it's not considered a blind link at most places (while it would be considered if it weren't linked together with the banner). The catch is in case they are linked to the sponsor, they need to be linked TOGETHER - same a href - with the banner so they are considered 1 outgoing link instead of two.

In what textlink are concerned there are other ways of telling the surfer they are going for a paysite w/o spelling it for them. Expressions like "get instant access", "inside our member's area", "on our membership site", "join now", "only $xx", stuff like that. Read the thread MrYum mentioned, it's a really good one. And browse tru some of the sites listed at link-o-rama for instance. That will give you an ideea of what flies.

BTW, I didn't look too close, but isn't the site you're promoting about anal sex? If it is, pretty much all linklists have that category, and the traffic should do you much better then the hardcore one.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you :)

Thanks a lot for that! All these subtleties... but I'll get the hang of it!

The first site (which I'm about to post for today) should now hopefully (?) be blind link free
http://www.cumslutworld.com/galleries/assmistress/
Will get to the other tomorrow.

Oh and no, it's not an anal site actually, just bubbly butts and girls being pentrated in the usual manner (whatever that is these days :))

Preacher 2006-04-13 01:43 PM

Including your hub link down at the bottom that index has 4 outbound links which is one two many by most standards. Being as the two vertical banners are the same and it's just an aesthetic thing, I'd probably let it slide, but some may not.

Just something to be aware of. :)

MrYum 2006-04-13 01:45 PM

Very well said Johnny...you got that blind links thing nailed |thumb

Much better Midget...looks blind link free to me :)

Now, that's just damn funny :D

MightyMidget 2006-04-13 11:07 PM

MrYum: Sweet!

Preacher: I let it stay for this time and it seems to have worked, but thanks for pointing that out!

The second site should now hopefully also be blind link free, though I probably won't post that one today:

Popup Butts - You Bet!

blah blah blah |boobies|

Your pages are missing their DOCTYPE declaration which can seriously mess how well your pages are parsed and you have inserted a second tag. No soup for you!

MightyMidget 2006-04-14 12:46 AM

Most definitely no soup for me! How embarassing, but I've fixed it for the second site now.

Thanks for pointing that out Useless Warrior! May I ask how your balls are doing? :)

I did not fix it for the first site since it's already posted and I'm too afraid to change anything.

Actually I wanted to ask about that: When LL's say "don't change the page after approval", are they saying: "don't change ANYTHING, our script will see if you switched an 'a' for a 'b'", or are they saying "don't change anything mayor, like adding a console or changing overall design/sponsor/content, our reviewers will revisit and see that" ?

I seriously doubt they have time to manually check old pages so I'm guessing the first one.

Both. ;) Some lists employ bots which will note any type of change and either flag or pull your listing. I've heard that some list owners allow their bots to auto-delete flagged sites, while most prefer to manually inspect the sites to see if the change was rule breaking or not. While we would all like to live by the creed "build, submit, and forget", most of us realize that that isn't always possible. We all make mistakes and have to perform emergency repairs now and then.

Then you haven't met MrMaryLou. :D Admittedly, hand verifying an entire list is a monsterous task which makes most of us weep just thinking about it, but it does happen. GG's l-o-r probably does it far more often than other lists, but he has MML. The best bot can't detect everything, so the occasional physical inspection should happen in order to maintain a quality list.

MightyMidget 2006-04-14 03:41 AM

MML, the human bot! :) I have yet to talk to him though I think he said hi to me in the "hello newbie" thread, inbetween free site check #13896 and #13897, I assume. I'm impressed!
