Which size fan sign would you want?
 

I know we all use different sized tables or divs on our pages, but does anyone have an opinion on how big/small they'd like to see those suddenly popular fan signs being offered by sponsors? I'm assuming that width affects your pages more than height, but what do I know -I just got here yesterday.

So, smack me silly and tell me what your fucking preference would be. Thanks, yo.

If so then I'd say 1px by 1px! :D

I'd probably use/want 480x640, not 640x480

I think 480x640 is good, resizing it down if necessary wouldn't be a problem for most.

I agree - make them rather large - like 1024x768 (or whatever) and then advise them to resize them to fit their needs.

Pardon the quality. The script seems to produce a lower quality jpg than what it starts with.

I never noticed the quality decrease. Angeline, never looked so bad.

I agree with GG because I think it is a damn good recommendation and it is politically correct to do so :D

Sparky tossed a php funtion my way last night that lets up control the quality. (Thanks Chris ;))

As for offering much larger fansigns, I'm wondering how legible the text will be if larger images are decreased in size after the fact. Thats my one concern there.

The choice of font will have alot to do with that. Something like Comic Sans will resize far better than a script font.

Yeah, I'm playing with a few font choices, font sizes, colors, and positions of text on the pics to see what's going to work best for the majority of users. Thanks for the input, Toby. ;)
