Free Site Requirements

OK I have never done free sites, but i have a ton of content and I normally do TGP galleries, but I am liking this Link List thing alot, so I have been thinking about building free sites. I am just curious if there is software out there that creates the free sites, what the requirements are, submissions per day (on avg) etc that people allow.

My link list is still new so I havnt seen all the crap that people submit and do to try and cheat.

Thanks,
Andy

Andy ,

there is software out there.. but its mostly produces templated shit...

You are better off IMO to get the basics right and use "helper-type" applications to streamline the process.

Requirements - warning page, main page 2 x gallery pages, 20 pics min,2-3 banners/ads per page only.

You will find lots of "my first freesite" threads in this forum and in the Newbies forum - http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...p?s=&forumid=5

Submissions per day; is a per linklist thing, but is usually limited to ONE.

Very helpful, cool I will put something together this week. I think the biggest thing I wanted was the recip duplication but most submission software has that.

How many links (recips) is the norm. I see some freesites with 40 and others with 10 or so. Just curious.

Andy,

Recips is up to you... but as often stated here.. we have all seen 20 recips look good and 5 recips look bad.

6-8 is about standard, but as long as it fits with the design, does not impede the surfers progress, and doesn't dominante the page.. you can do what you like.

That said.. some individual linklists do have recips limits.. dont ask me why;(

Great I will put something together and let you guys critique it :)

And if any of you have ideas for a link list page builder/submitter let me know. I am a programmer and do this stuff for a living so I am always writing super scalable and templated applications. I can make it still work well / look good and provide flexibility too.

Anyhow, I will start with doing them by hand get some suggestions from you all/critiques and go from there. Thanks for all the help so far.

Andy,

Glad to see you jumping into the link list game. I'm sure you'll do well just like you do with everything else. Best of luck to you!

And, by the way, I prefer to see 6-10 recips max on the sites I approve.

Thanks marc, yeah figured I would give it a shot, I think the traffic is better for LL then with TGP.
