CCBill - Visa approval timeline...

I'm wondering, in the breadth of your experiences, how long does it typically take to get Visa approval for a new site? First CCBill said it would be one to two weeks. Well, about one week later, they are saying that it's going to be a solid month. I'm not talking about CCBill approval. We have that. It's Visa that *appears* to be holding up the game. That simply seems to be a competely unrealistic amount of time to get someone to take money from you.

|huh

1 month? that's insane

Longest time for me was about 2 weeks max (and that was 1 1/2 weeks too long), it's been over a year since I've added a site though.

Have you talked to your rep? I'll send Corvette this thread url. He might be able to help.

Chop just got off the phone with somene at CCBill. :( And thanks for letting Corvette know. A month just seems way too long (especially when you plan on launching the site in another week ;)).

[BV] 2006-04-24 09:17 PM

corvette just told me on icq it's normally 3-5 days but it can take longer when they are backed up

so they must be pretty backed up if 1 month is a true timeline

i can't imagine that much of an increase of new ccbill sites being submitted for approvel though

that's like a 1000% spike of new sites being submitted

emmanuelle 2006-04-24 09:30 PM

We've had them take from 1.5 days to 25 days. No rhyme or reason.

koolkat 2006-04-24 09:51 PM

It took about 7 (business) days for my first site, about 3 for my second, and I am currently going on about 10 for my other, and still no word. |huh

"A week! oooh, what I wouldn't give to hear back from CCBill in a week!"

juggernaut 2006-04-24 10:17 PM

Took 1 month for my site and I wanted to have a sub account change that required visa approval, that 2 weeks.

CCBill James 2006-04-24 10:23 PM

Corvette is correct on that one. In a general given basis sites that are sent off to Visa for approval can come back as quickly as 3-5 days. However, this does not guarantee that every account sent to Visa will be processed in the same amount of time. The actual time frame itself account approval from Visa is 7 -21 business days.

Hope that helps clear up some confusion. :)

Last site I just did took almost 2 weeks. They were really backed up.

When you say "approval from Visa" what exactly do you mean.

I was under the impression that CCBIll had a Visa department (so to speak) operated by CCBill employees.

Are these sites actually being sent off and reviewed by Visa employees at Visa's offices?

In order for CCBill to process Visa transactions on your behalf all accounts must complete the full Visa registration process. This includes the account being approved by CCBill and by Visa as well. Once the account has been approved by CCBill and the application has been completed the account is sent off for further approval to Visa. This is where the 7 - 21 business days comes into play.

I suppose it's a good thing that this is nothing more than a hobby for all of us, or else a period of 7-21 days would be annoying. :D

This is exactly why I never pay my Visa bill. My way of sticking it to the man.

I am confused. The account has had Visa approval for two years. Does each site require Visa approval. I do not recall a 'pending' status ever occuring on our other sites when they were set up.

yes, each individual and new site requires visa approval.

Beaver Bob 2006-04-25 12:10 AM

For the very first site we put up, it took like 3 weeks. But now when we do additional sites, usually within a week, no more than 10 business days.

James,

When you say the account is sent off for further approval to Visa for 7-21 more days. Please answer my question. Is this a "Visa" department at CCBIll's office?

or

are these new sites being approved sent off to Visa's office?

Thanks,
BV

i doubt that is true

that's a rev share affiliates main gripe

and rightly so

Ramster 2006-04-25 08:41 AM

All sites are approved by CCBill then sent to Visa yes. That is a normal process and has been for a while. As far as I know I've had to do the same thing for a long time.

At NS Cash we use several processors and after they each approve a NEW site being added to the program (all new sites need visa approval, not just ccbill, epoch, ect) then the site is sent to Visa for a once over approval. Then after that you can start processing.

Useless 2006-04-25 08:47 AM

I have no problem with Visa's need to take a gander at the sites themselves. It's the amount of time that they are requiring that's at issue. When you see '21 days' you feel that big rusty bear trap tightening down on your balls. I may need a Tetanus shot.

Greenguy 2006-04-25 09:25 AM

Useless - you can only blame yourself. If you were done with the site on March 23rd, you'd have approval already |couch|

lol....until you go check your credit bureau file and see all the nasty little things they say.

Alex xe 2006-04-25 12:35 PM

the same problem, for one site we wait approve already 4 weeks.
