I want your RSS feeds
 

I am testing an idea out. I need about 10-20 RSS feeds for blogs that are updated at least 3 times per week, hardcore or softcore straight or fetish - I am not looking for gay or shemale right now.

Drop me a PM, and I will let you know a little more about the idea.

Please note: In order to take part in this idea, you must understand that your RSS will be used and will appear IN PART on another site. All links, link codes, and attribution will be made to you, I am not taking a single hit from you, nor am I editing the content in any manner. If you posts have images in them, the images need to be accessible from a third party website (and I will provide you the domain so you can open it up for that if you are blocked).

For now I am trying to keep this on a surfer oriented basis... it really is a test of concept before a full site comes out, although I can see this working even in the present form.

I do have to add to this thread, this experience has got me laughing.

I posted a similar request at the zoo today to see what I would get. I got about a dozen or so replies fairly quickly... out of that, I got a site filled with "dissolute women", one guy sent me about 10 feeds all of which were aggregations of sponsor RSS feeds, and one guy who sent me feeds where to total word counter per post was less than the total picture and link count per post.

Apparently much of the blog world is made up of shit.

Sady, far too much. Think too many people dont want to take the time to actually make real posts. It does take time, but worth it in the long run.

Thats really cool! Very nice design

But there is a problem in IE with your live feed. It just over-runs the box boundry a little and appears to have a dotted yellow border.

Walrus: Yeah, I spotted that one. The designer did some really nice graphics, but some of the code isn't exactly wordpress correct, the sidebar areas being a big part of that. I am having to recode it myself to make it work a little better, because the way it is just doesn't do it for me :) But I like the look, and I think the surfer types will bookmark this sort of design.

Do you find the live cam advertising works well for blog traffic? I'm still trying to find something that converts well on blogs.

Preacher, the design was done by http://www.team31.net/ - I love the graphics, but there is some issues with the back end / wordpress standards that have me a little wound up - but to an extent it is a question of look over control... so I am learning :)

As for live, I am actually thinking that it doesn't do as well with general blog traffic, but in this case it is the one thing I am offering that wouldn't normally appear in any of the blog entries, so it puts me in a non-competing position with the posters. I am still playing with it, I might pull it later for something else... but I wanted something different from the typical "meet girls in # YOUR CITY HERE #" which seems to pollute much of the net these days.

If you are interested in this, let me know, I can show you how to make it happen :)

Only thing I saw that you'd want to fix, besides the dashed yellow border already mentioned, is that you have "th" where you meant "the" in the top box of the center column.

I was going to say, get with Cleo to see if you can get the pics of the trannies baking a cake from her blog to load on yours, but then I saw her pics aren't loading on her blog either.

Anyway, good stuff, and I think you're right that it'll help with getting more bookmarkers. I may hit you up about that live chat thingee.

And that's a great idea about the non-competition.

The dashed yellow is actually something that comes with the feed, I have communicated the problem to them and I will see what they say. I fixed the typo, but that isn't even really the final text for that space... just playing for now.

Preacher, at the end of the day I need more than just me to make content that people will find interesting. Non-competition is intended to let other people do what they do best, and at the same time obviously making some money on the side without diluting your original product. Many aggregators will play with your content, change links, and do other nasty stuff. I see this as a win-win, something that bookmarkers will love and give many sites a chance to get new viewers they might not otherwise see... plus I think it encourages everyone write more entries and keep things moving. 25 or 30 new entries a day on the front page will certainly make this bookmarkable.

As a bonus in all of this, I am going to take some of the money earned and turn it into traffic buys as well, to boost up the exposure. It should go well.
