What causes 502 bad gateway errors?
And should I be concerned about this?
|
502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy.
• 502.1 - CGI application timeout. • 502.2 - Error in CGI application. Was it 502.1 or 502.2 ? Errr... actually maybe this is more like it? 502 - Bad gateway. You receive this error message when you try to run a CGI script that does not return a valid set of HTTP headers. |
HTTP/1.1 502 Bad Gateway
But when I copy and paste the url it works. I'm concerned about getting credit for traffic and signups. Ihave about 10 links from the same sponser like this. |
Are you using a click tracking script between you and the sponsor?
|
Yes, the software says its JS.
|
First - have you contacted the sponsor to ask if they're been having any problems serving those pages? (Just in case it's not you.)
It's hard to say for sure without real urls, but it sounds like your click tracking script is having a problem. Maybe a problem with just that sponsor's links. Or maybe any links formatted a certain way. |
No I have not contacted them. The other pages I have of theirs are ok. I'm willing to bet it's the software but who knows. at this point I'll disable to the links till I can get a response from the sponser and see how it goes. Thanks Simon..

Don't know if it still matters, I tried for days to eliminate a 502 from a scripted page repeatedly without success. Then teary eyed one night I found it.... a single quote mark that didn't belong.

Maybe if you setup the link again from scratch you'll get a clean run at it. |huh |
