Why do sites insist on potential customers giving out personal information before they can go window shopping? Are they in the business of selling content or selling my personal information?

I understand your concerns, but the email account activation is just a matter of anti-surfer protection.
This had been discussed a million of times, and there's still no solid opinion.
Finally - it's just an email adress, I don't ask you to submit your cc number, and no way I gonna sell the info or use it for any malicious purposes

Finally, I've posted demo login info twice |jackinthe
