Today is the Big Baby Shower. It kind of started last night with all my wife's sisters staying here. Today, I get to be locked up in our bedroom with our dogs. Good thing our bedroom is really big :) So, I am going to be here as long as I can but at some point, I will be locked down :)

morning Jim and all to drop by:) finally my busy ofline week is over, i slept till 11.15 this morning a bit to late but needed. I will be doing some network today and the evening i will be offline again, gonna enjoy an relaxing weekend doing nothing, that way i will have lots of energy again to work my butt next week on the net. I have to go finish that tub installation that I started yesterday. Hopefully I won't crush too many of my digits today. I'm a clumsy fuck, I don't mind telling ya. I have no idea why people continue to invite me into their lovely homes and allow me to repair/install shit. Oh yeah, they've got money and I work cheap. :D

Poochie boy goes back to the vet for a quick check-up today. Good for him, the loveable bastard.

My brother is flying in to help me get organized for my move from NC to Ohio.

The Hurricanes are going to win today ;-)

I have to continue to pack stuff... took me about 8 hours to shred documents I don't want to move and couldn't just throw away (I hate those damn checks that the CC companies send..... they are always tucked away in some non descript envelope they send)...

had a revelation last night while driving home from the data center....

had a tremendous bout with a desctructive hacker or series of hackers that decided if they were going to be locked out, they were going to do as much damage as possible on the way out.

Case in point -- change your FTP passwords today. Make sure to upgrade any software that you are using. This attack came in through a piece of software that even their latest version is exploitable. The authors said: Nah, its not exploitable, so, we handed them logs and showed them. Their software needs to be completely rewritten to remove at least a dozen entry points.

The fun never ends.

Will the rain ever stop? I have never seen lawns so not taken care of like this before. Some neighbours have grass over 1 foot high. I am going to attempt to run out right now and see if I can cut mine, looks like the rain has let up.. this may be my only chance!

Watched a not very good kind of strange religious movie late last night called The Visitor. Going to try to find something more entertaining to do today.

Not really much going on today. I woke up with a scratchy throat so will probably just take it easy fearful of coming down with something again but I don't feel sick or anything.

Should be able to finish rebuilding the final RAID for Angel today. Can't wait to see what she screws up next.

My cat is still actually kind of drunk but seems to be doing ok. She is following me all over the house this morning but kind of just falls over sometimes. The vet said that she is older then we thought and was in heat already when I took her in to be spayed.

Who's turn is it to make breakfast today?

Terry, I snuck out and did the back yard on thursday when it was sunny for an hour or so... it was amazing, about half the neighborhood was out cutting grass at the same time, trying to get it done before it started raining.

I had a fun run to Toronto yesterday, some screwups on the little job I had to do there, but I did manage to pick up a new unblocked cell phone (Razor from motorola) and get some other stuff done, have dinner with one of my friends, and then everything was good to go. Left here at 1PM, got back about 4AM... not bad considering there was 10 hours of driving in there :)

Trips like that give me the time to think about business ideas without distractions or without the computer in front of me to ADHD into something else. It lets me sort though the ideas and what results I have seen and work on figuring out good potential "next steps". I find sometimes that I can't see the forest for all the trees, so stepping back and having a good 10-12 hours to truly think about it WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO ACT seems to help clear some things up for me.

Anyway, many things to do today, I might even watch a hockey game ;)

I did the same thing last night as we're supposed to have thunderstorms this weekend, a rare occurance around these parts.

My pluracie --pains in the lung cavity -- snuck back yesterday but just a bit, hopefully it won't come back today.
