The Bitch & I are starting the Fat Smash Diet today - for the next 9 days, we will be eating only fruits & vegetables with some brown rice & oatmeal thrown in |dizzy|

Other than that, I've got a lot of TV to catch up on, so I'll be scarce for the rest of the day |yawn|

Morning all,

So it's already the last day of the weekend?
Ah well, next weeks is going to be a short one, only 3 workdays instead of the usual 5 due to some religious holiday.

That diet sounds like fun GG :D

Ah well, have a nice day all :)

Cleo 2006-05-21 10:02 AM

Sunday again…
I have such a mundane life. Not much planned for today. Doing the gym and then back home to work.

Got all my insurance bills for this year's home insurance renewals. I actually have three. Homeowners, flood, and windstorm. I knew they were going way up so no big surprise but wow I'm paying a lot for insurance now to live on this sand bar. Can't wait to see what I'll have to pay next year if we have another bad storm season.

Spent yesterday hanging out with my neighbor and then ended up at Angel's place and watched two of her tranny friends bake a cake as they asked me a thousand and one questions about doing a web site like FoxyAngel. I would love to have another site or tow to manage but I told them the same thing I tell everyone that wants a site and to let me know when they have lots of content shot.

Espresso and oatmeal is now being served.

Good morning world |waves|

Cleo - a friend of mine is so pissed at the 400% rise in his rates that he swears that this time he's going to set his house on fire as the hurricane comes ashore... since that's covered by his normal insurance.

Having fun building new templates and constructing new database queries today, plus catching up on watching things the dvr has been busy recording for me. :)

Will he be playing the violin as his house burns?

I'm guessing that this year a lot of folks will be going without windstorm insurance. Should make for some real bargain basement real estate sales after the next big one.

At least today is absolutely beautiful out. The real heat and humidity has not yet gotten here and not a cloud in the sky.

Good morning all. Was going to go fishing today, its just so so nice out. But spent yesterday at the computer, woke up this morning and just hated looking over the house. I think its massive cleaning time again.

What concerns me is that they get the 400% rise in rates, we have no hurricane for 3 years, they keep the money and show their 20% ROI and the state allows them to keep it.

We're facing a 70% rise here, but, I get the feeling the insurance companies are going to have to do some fast dancing to keep the rates that high. I did notice big oil got socked with a $10 billion hit on their tax exemptions. That will have some creative spin put on it I am sure.

We do live in interesting times.

Greenguy, good luck on that diet... I have been doing a modified Atkins style thing for a while with very decent results...

When we started our contest last year:

I was pretty much right back on that number again january of this year...

This week:

We just did our last cam show for the next few weeks, since family will be here. And I'm not going to try to figure out how to be quiet for late night show while they are sleeping....icks

So today is the last day off that I can be fully naked in my house until July and I'm going to take advantage of it. :D

I'm more fearful that our weather has changed and a couple of hurricanes will hit us each year. Once again this month seems unusually warm and dry just like the last few years. I'm really like so not looking forward to two hurricanes again this year like the last two years.

I can only imagine what our rates will be next year if this year is the same as the last two.|banghead|

RawAlex 2006-05-21 02:55 PM

Cleo, the weather all over has been more than a little wild... our usually warm building to summer month of May has turned into a endless rains, more than 2 weeks now without let up. Just south of the city they got between 100 and 175mm of rain yesteday, which lead to flooding in those areas as they rivers were already up from this endless rain (for those who wonder, that would be 6 inches of rain). Much of the New England area has been flooded and flooded again... a weather pattern rarely seen in over 100 years has really done the whole north east in pretty hard.

It all plays into my personal theory of "global warming" that seems to escape most of the experts (probably because I am wrong, but heck, it makes me feel better). Global warming is just earth's natural way to put more water down to grow more plants to get rid of the CO2 and rebalance the system. The more we cut stuff down and create pollution, the more the earth will fight and try to grow green stuff back and water it as needed.

So yeah, even by my wonky thinking, Florida is in for a few more years of seriously strong storms... the good thing being that each year that you have string storms, the weakest stuff gets taken away, which should mean less damage and less debris flying around breaking stuff.

Alex

digifan 2006-05-21 03:02 PM

Nothing but rain... I hate it. I saw the sun for like 30 min yesterday so I remember how it looks and a huge butterfly sleeping in the wet grass, almost stepped on it and it freaked me out a lot. Its wings were as wide as a monitor.. a smaller monitor. It was ugly grey and brown and fat :(

Cleo 2006-05-21 03:15 PM

Yeah I pretty much agree with you Alex.

I'm planning for a few more years of bad storms. I've trimmed all my foliage way back and toped all of my trees really short. Stocked up with plenty of fuel and a generator. Storm shutters on everything. The only thing that I regret is going with clay S tile roof instead of a metal roof that I did two years ago after damage from the first storm. I see many of the newer houses going with metal roofs now and I've seen them in the Keys for many years. The clay roofs look real pretty but the tiles break when something flies into them and the tiles break into real sharp pieces.

Many houses down here still with blue tarps over their roofs and lots of storm damage from the last four that hit our area. Many people are still fighting with their insurance companies and haven't even started on any repairs yet. Much of our electric grid looks like something out of a third world country with makeshift repairs all over it. It's going to be really bad if we get hit again with so much still unfixed from the last ones.

Mostly I'm dreading being without utilities again for weeks and even higher insurance rates on top of storm related expenses.

Weather all over seems to have turned much more violent. My neighbor's daughter who lives in Oklahoma keeps on having to go down into her tornado shelter that is in her garage's floor under where she normally parks her cars. Kind of grim not knowing if your home is going to be destroyed a several times each year when you hear sirens going off. Almost makes our hurricanes not seem so bad.
