If you use Joomla, remember to do the following: - Under "global configuration", switch on Search Engine Friendly URLs and Dynamic Page Titles. - If you use a wrapper for any third party products (link list software, tgp rotator, etc.) be sure to use javascript, between the and tags to force the page into the wrapper. (There is a thread on the Joomla BBS with the code to do this). Hope that helps. --artwilliams |

you also might want to take a look at http://www.cmsmatrix.org/ -- its hosted by the people at plainblack, so, webgui gets a little boost in that it supports 'everything'.
but, its a good place to look around to see alternatives. Then, whichever you choose, search for cmsname bugtraq in google to see how many security exploits they have, and the response time of the team involved. |
CMS does have advantages but they are best suited for large web sites. Technically, if you know the basics and know how to optimize a standard website, then you got it made. Learn to do that first and strengthen your SEO skills before moving into CMS systems because you will just be making more work for yourself. Quick note....blog scripts are CMS and if you're creative enough, you can do a lot with blogs. They don't have to look so basic like we all see with everyones' :)
Just an idea...add a blog inside your existing html site and you can still obtain good SEO ;) |
