Directory/LL newbie!
 

Ok, so now I'm not only an MGP and freesite submitter newbie but also a directory/LL newbie :D

I've posted about my new site a few times yesterday so I'm a little afraid someone will accuse me of trying to spam, but anyway the site is at www.cumslutlinks.com

Since there are so may things one could do wrong for a "simple" freesite or gallery, I bet there's about a million things I could/am doing wrong with my directory :)

I'd be really happy if I could get some advice about it! One thing though, some of the content is there simply because a site needs content, so to speak. Right now there are a lot of gallery links for example, although I would prefer there'd be only (or atleast a majority of) free sites, but I don't have any submitters yet so there's my temporary solution :)

That's atually my biggest headache right now, how do I get submitters? Not that easy to answer I suppose

Oh, one more thing. This directory thingy along with some freelance programming I'm doing to port an mp3 encoder has taken a lot of time lately. For those LL owners who might be thinking of ditching my submit account, I just want to say that I'll be back doing a freesite a day very soon now.

First of all, to fill up your LL I'd recommend signing up to www.hfslinks.com
It's a service run by ChopSmith and it provides you with all the hosted freesites (complete with tyitles and descriptions) you'll ever need.

Your design is very nice if you ask me. So no bad comments from me on that one. I think what you have here now is a very good first try :)

The only thing I see that's maybe a bit off is that your site doesn't fit a 800x600 resomution. But then again, it's your site you can do with it whatever you want. And it doesn't have to get listed with the LL's like a freesite.

Thanks Fonz! I'm aware of the 800x600 incompability, though I believe it's only the category pages which has this problem. I just like the way they look right now; was thinking about changing it and fiddled around with it but didn't like the outcome. Will probably see to that later.

I signed up to hfslink, looks sweet! Actually I've collected enough hosted gallery links previously to make it possible for me to do a daily update with 2-5 links in each categoy for a couple of months at least, but it sure doesn't hurt to get more!

I got my first submit - kickass! Unfortunately it was someone who submitted another LL and not a freesite... |club|

And you're right, it's mine, ALL MINE!! Soon, these pages of destruction will break all the known laws of mankind, require a lynx browser running on VMS, and install spyware sponsored by the remnants of KGB |samauri| I will not be stopped!

Guys, I was only kidding about the KGB, you can come back now :D

Anyway, I switched the whole site to Verdana, plus fixed a html fuckup that made tables look stupid in IE (this bug is still present in some of the older sites listed, too lazy to change all that code right now).

Any more tips for this struggling LL newbie?
