Well, this suck horseshit!

What a fucking start of this damn month!
Was about to pay some bills, noticed that about $1800 was gone from my visa card. Some fuckhead got their smelly hands on my CC info and went nuts at the poker table...
So my lesson learned: Never give your CC info out to porn sites on the internet. ;) and always pay cash when ordering pizza.

Ramster 2006-06-01 08:28 PM

My bet is on the pizza guy. ;)

Too bad, I hope you get some reslove.

MrYum 2006-06-01 09:41 PM

Damn, that sucks donkey balls |angry|

I'm with Ramster...had to be the pizza guy!

Cleo 2006-06-01 09:51 PM

Every number that I've had stolen was on a card that I never used on the internet.

It was the pizza guy I bet too.

Bank has always given me the money right back and just had me fill out some forms that they mailed to me so it isn't something that I really worry about.

I only use debit cards these days and I check my accounts at least once a day. My bank has locked my accounts a few times when I bought something and I had to call the bank to let them know that it was really me buying something but I don't mind as it is better then dealing with the hassle of having a card number stolen.

Same here. Much less stress on me |thumb

I get calls from my bank from time to time, verifying that a particular online purchase is legit. So far, knock on wood, no surprises. It's nice to know they're watching for potential bogus transactions and are being proactive.

Danny 2006-06-02 08:06 AM

It's the pizza man alright.

I'll start doing that too.

waddayaknow... money back faster than expected and no questions asked. |thumb

I have plenty of credit cards but mostly I use my debit card cards, which are on separate accounts and I keep only small amounts of money in them. I just go online and move money from my main checking accounts to the debit accounts when I need to.

sue-fl 2006-06-02 08:34 AM

Glad you got it resloved Danny|thumb I agree that debit card is the way to go! I also get fraud alert calls when they think something might be up. Makes me feel good that they are watching.

Jim 2006-06-02 09:12 AM

I have a card that has a really high limit. And sometimes I wish they would call. I have bought a lot of things on it that you would think would trigger their fraud department. I bought my lovely wife's Harley Davidson with it :) Bought Madonna tickets with it and even recently purchased 2 VIP packages to see Roger Waters that were far from cheap :) I would be embarrassed to say what 7th row center VIP box tickets cost for Roger Waters. But how could I pass up a concert called
"Roger Waters
The Creative Mind of Pink Floyd
Brings You
Dark Side of the Moon"

I did once have an Amsterdam company charge one of my debit cards a lot of money. But that was the only time I ever had any problem online. Every other time it was local morons.

Yep its nice to know they are watching out for ya, but at the same time it can be frustrating. On my wife and I's debit card we went out and bought a new set of wedding rings, and then went to the sporting goods store and I went to buy myself a new softball bat and some other softball stuff and the total there was like 250$. Well guess they locked our account down after the jewlrey store purchase because the sporting goods store wouldnt accept the card. Nothing more aggrevating than having some dumb blonde high school bitch talking down to you asking if we even had the money in there to cover it, I about fucking lost it, I wanted to smack that bitch around so bad haha.
Good thing our bank was right around the corner, came back to the store with the cash and paid.

Then just this week I recieved a disconnection notice from my server company for non payment, I was like WTF. Turned out we had made a major purchase the same day they tried to bill the card and it was declined.

Had my epassporte account compromised a couple weks ago. Same old same old companies I pay this that and the other to, many months of payments/purchases with no problem. Been paying the same companies for months. Made an Amazon purchase - a few days later see some highly irregular shit and investigate. One epassporte account compromised. Amazon lost all future business from me for what I suspect (rightly or wrongly) is a scumbag employee somewhere along the line.

Ain't always the little guys - only takes 1 asshole from whatever company (and the guy from Amazon that I suspect coulda worked anywhere).

I had the same thing happen with a debit card. I tried to use it over and over. It worked fine at an atm making a deposit but when I tried to use it, it always came back declined.

After months of using something else, I called the bank. They told me there was an unusual amount purchased at Amazon in November and December. Since that is my main Christmas shopping place, I thought it strange they would shut down the card. Especially since I have done the same thing every year.

OMG, that sucks soooo bad! I'm so sorry to hear that Danny. I really hope everything works out for ya!
I'v always wondered about giving the CC to the pizza people. I don't have a CC, so I'v never done it but I used to work at Pizza Hut when I was 16 and after we would take down CC info, I was instructed to just toss the paper away. I used to tear them up, but I recall seeing lots of people who didn't. Totally disregarding the safety of someone's personal info. Some people....

Good luck to you. I really hope it all gets resolved quickly.

EP sucks when that happens. I had 5 fraud charges from skype on EP, contacted EP to claim fraud and they told me to talk to skype directly to do that. I never got around to it though. |crazy|

lorsha 2006-06-02 04:05 PM

How horrible for you hun. |angry|

It seems a lot more people are being touched by things like this these days. And most likely the trend will continue ....

babymaker 2006-06-02 04:12 PM

It probably is the pizza shop, i have a few friends that own them around here and there are shitloads of slips around with all the info you need, i have been tempted so often lol no possible way to trace it, the full name and cc# exp date, and i mean on good days fuck 3-400 different #'s on little white slips. and really with 20 people working there and no cams on them...shit you do the math. it's funny people will be wary to put cc info in a porn site with 128 encryption, but some arab who can't speak english asks for just as much data over the phone from a pizza shop and they don't even think twice.

MaddCaz 2006-06-11 11:53 AM

yea im having a shitty month too
