Traffic and stats
What is the deal with these stat differences. I have noticed that my stats from my host are much high then my stats from companys like topbucks, and twistys. I put a third party stat counter on my site and they more truly reflect my hosting numbers. Do the companys cheat you? I know some do, but I didnt think the big ones like these above companys cheated you like this? Any input? I work to hard for this........|club|

Please dont think I am knocking these companys I just am new and would like to know why this happens. I do know these companys are good companys.........

surfers hitting a page and clicking through to a sponsor is 2 different things, that just goes to show how many surfers look for free and never visit the sponsor, you gotta have a shit load of traffic to see good numbers to a tour or some really unique content

1st off, are you using a script to track outgoing hits to these programs? If so, how far off are the numbers? (some programs count differently, like 2nd page hits instead of 1st page)
As far as the counter & server stats, I don't see how those numbers would match anything in the sponsor's stats area, since not everyone that visits your site would be clicking on a link to go to a sponsor. |
It also depends what type of site you have. If you're running a TGP don't expect your uniques (according to your host stats) to be anywhere near your clicks (counted by sponsors). Whereas if your traffic comes mostly from Search Engines you should get a higher click ratio, but still your host 'uniques' should be at least 100 times greater than your sponsor 'clicks'.
