Eraser Cash?
Anyone here still use or know what's up with Eraser Cash (Internet Eraser software site)? I used them for a while as "exit here" warning page links on a bunch of my older freesites, and when I checked my stats this week, I noticed that I was no longer getting any hits as of a few weeks ago. It seems that any URL with my affiliate ID goes 404, but taking out the ID still brings up a page.
I can find no link in the webmasters area that would allow me to contact them either. No idea if they're shutting down the program or if they just killed my affiliate ID for some reason (although I can still log in to the webmasters area so it's probably not the latter). |
You could try wmhelp@interneteraser.com
Isn't this product one of those that erases the surfer's cookies? |
Maybe Internet Eraser managed to erase your own linkcode?

That's one of those exits that I really frown upon. It's counter-productive. True, not many surfers will hit an exit for any reason other than mere curiosity, but it's just not good to adverstise those cookie killing cocksuckers. Cookies are my friends.

If it's a matter of making sure affiliate codes track through a sponsor site, there are two situations: 1.) The surfer does a one-time erasure of cookies. In this case he'll get a new cookie as soon as he clicks through to a tour again. 2.) The surfer sets his browser or uses software to block all cookies. In this case almost every practical site he goes to will require re-entering data each time, etc. which makes the normal surfing expierience more difficult, for nnonporn as well as porn surfing. So he'll probably unblock cookies in short order. If cookies are used for tracking your own traffic, frankly, a good stats program does that for me. I don't use cookies on my free sites, etc. I'm sure there must be a practical application that doesn't include these two examples, so I'd be happy to have it explained to me. :) Frankly I'm a lot more concerned about surfers being able to selectively block Javascript, although the same considerations apply as listed above. |

Example: If this is your CCBill link to my lovely site http://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clic...ore-wives.html you'll see that once you are passed to the tour and the cookie is planted, the page links are all normal non-CCBill links. The tour doesn't set the cookie - the CCBill referring link does. So, if the surfer gets to the tour and says, "I love this gorgeous site which was obviously built by a god-like designer, but I want to join later" and bookmarks http://youngwhorewives.com/whore-wives.html , and comes back after he/she kills that cookie - I get paid, you don't. And that just sucks. Therefore, cookies are your friend. |

As to the cookies issue, while it may be somewhat rare for a surfer to leave and buy later...it does indeed happen. And every sale counts |thumb |
I know of one sponsor that asks you to list your domains with them. Then if the surfer blocks cookies, or is a techy type, and strips your affiliate ID you still get credit.

That's an adult.com site. Try contacting them there or if you have Loryn's ICQ or one of the other reps there you could contact them directly.
