Beat me up!!!

Hi guys and gals, I am looking for a review on my latest freesite, does it look ok, colorscheme etc. (I am colorblind so that is a big problem for me)... will it get listed at the LL's and ofcourse most importantly do you think it will convert anything

all comments are valued (as long as they are constructive :D )

Thanks for the help

Not to bad, but could use a little bit of work:

What's the script for...actually you know what, I don't care what it's for just get rid of it.

Some of your pics are too small to be listed. 500 on the long side would be the minimum.

You're using way more keywords then I would recommend, but it's not as out of control as I have seen on other free-sites and it's not going to keep you from getting listed anywhere.

Those are my initial suggestions. Good luck. |thumb

Oh, and I hate Caps in URLS, it causes nothing but trouble down the line.

Adding to Preacher's comments (which you'll definitely want to implement)...

The site would look better if you centered the pages. Would also look better if you centered the recips in their cells.

Lastly, you'll want to do a whois lookup on that domain...it's on the spam blacklist.

http://whois.domaintools.com/pornpartyporn.com

!!!! I just bought the domain a month ago, I have not spammed anything, I submit a site a dat to LL's but that is it, why would I be listed? (I dont get what that http://whois.domaintools.com/pornpartyporn.com domain says apparently) because I cant see a reason for my being on that list.

what script? I dont think I have any scripts on my site, if I do, please tell me where it is, it might be somethnig made by my gallery builder

thanks

Code:

But it's also a little concerning that you didn't know it was on your own pages. |huh

that script was added by my gallery creator, I will have to have a look at that, thanks.

My tables are centered in my browser, and I have coded them to be centered, what browser are you using?

Lemmy 2006-06-12 07:53 PM

My guess is that it's the script that makes the rollover effect on the thumbs, which is also why the galleries load so slowly - you are loading twice the number of thumbs.

Yea, you really gotta watch any kind of an automatic page builder...they're more trouble than they're worth...and can easily get you into trouble.

I'm using Firefox...it's the only thing I'll review in...much safer for my systems. I didn't look at your code, but FF is generally much less forgiving of bad code. I'd suspect that you've got an open tag or two in there and that's what's causing your entire site to appear left aligned in FF. Would probably be worth your time to run it through a validator to find the error(s).

As to why that domain is on the spam list, no idea what you cause that on a new domain. I'm also unable to verify your hosting (not a good thing), but do see that there are 800+ other sites on that server. Perhaps there's some ip sharing going on and it's one of your neighbors that caused the problem. Maybe your host can shed some light on the situation.

On the subject of hosting, you'll want to make sure your hosting is verifiable through your whois also.

I know it may seem that things are unreasonably strict. But, you have no idea what kind of crap gets submitted to link sites every day |dizzy|

Just for grins I ran the index through my html validator, 145 errors. And you are correct there are some missing " among the errors. FF is very unkind to that type of error.

Yup...validators are your friend |thumb

There's an extension for FF that has a built in validator...very handy :)

cse html validator (free version available) works good in ie6. Once installed you can access it in the browser by clicking file>validate with cse validator. :)
