Ok Thanks I will look into it.

Any other comment on the site...?
I have been submitting Freesites and TGP galleries for a while now and wanted to get my old Bookmarklinks up and running again.

Please feel free to give me some advise in design/usability on the site. Would be nice to have sorted out the biggest bugs before I install the script.

Great Board By The Way :-)

Hi BML :)

If you are considering listing thousands of sites, then at some point Links2 from Gossamer Threads will start having problems when it builds from the dbase.

For example, if you have a large Amateur category (and most link lists do) then because it is the first category to be built from the dbase it may start to slow down the build process or even stop. Several hundred sites in one category can start to really make the server work during an update.

Links 2 has limitations, although I know a couple of Aussie webmasters who have adapted it very successfully.

If you are looking for a long term solution which is robust and will not let you down, then Link Admin is the one.

Thanks GG, MrMaryLou and specially urb for the feedback.

As it is for long term(Hopefully) I think I will go for the Link Admin.

Thanks you guys. Glad I asked this question...|bananna|

Damn there are cool smileys in here...

Still if you guys have any comment on the layout/surferfriendlyness you are welcome to pass it on... Itīs not done yet and with a lot of old Dmoz sites listet, I will have to do alot of cleaning up ...

Cheers

The best advise I can give you on a new link list is keep is clean as hell :)

BML 2003-12-19 06:22 AM

Ok Then......

I think I will go with the Link Admin |cheers|
I have some questions though... I assume the script will be installed on the server by MrMaryLou or another compatent person. Will it also be fitted to the sites so all I have to do is operate the Script-Admin ? Add and review sites etc...
Meaning I donīt have to do anything in rebuilding the html files with the "Script-codes" on the sites or is that on my hand ?

Thx :)

What urb said about Gossemer Threads is true. I had it and it stalled when trying to build. Too many links in the DB so I had to change over to Richard's script.

BML 2003-12-19 10:24 AM

Cool with an example mr. Ramster |smooch|

Sorry cannot stop using these smilies...

Richards script = Link Admin = The one used on Richards Realm ???

Right ???

MrMaryLou 2003-12-19 11:12 AM

Yes and its used at link-o-rama and smutgremlins and the list is long :)
