How to ping yahoo and others?
So I finally started a blog last week. I am the last person on earth right?
|bananna| Now I am kind of lost with pinging yahoo (first SE I am trying to ping). I understand I need to make a "my yahoo" page and that I need to add my blogspot to the content. Ok I managed to do that. Then I am supposed to ping yahoo and the my yahoo page should be updated right away. That is how I understand it is supposed to be. If I ping using something like this : http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping?u=h...x.blogspot.com where xxx is the name of my blog I see weird signs. Clubs and spades...that kinds of signals....If I check my yahoo page nothing is changed untill like 12 hours after (normal update?) I tried services like pingomatic but without result as well. I feel like I am overlooking something but what???? |huh |
I think your looking for it to update to quickly. When you ping you are simply telling yahoo that you've updated. Yahoo still has to schedule a spider to visit you site and take a look at what has been changed. 12 hours seems a little long but since the information is eventually getting updated your ping is working.

I didn't know about the myyahoo thing before. Thanks
Are they ok with adult blogs? |
Adding your blog to MyYahoo is the fastest way to get indexed by them

Maybe I was just impatient. |

Yahoo has no trouble with adult so I see no reason for "my yahoo" to have problems with adult. :) |
