Big Brother All Stars

Big Brother is coming back to CBS. Now I know there are plenty of people who hate the Big Brother shows. So if you do.... just move along. Thank you.

Did anyone catch the show last night? They re-introduced 20 candidates who may become this year's houseguests on the All Stars edition. I can see some of them getting voted in almost automatically (Janelle, Kaysar, Will, Howie)... and some don't have a chance in hell.

What do you think about the "all stars" type of format? Survivor tried in awhile back, and personally I found that it had only limited success. We'll have to wait and see how BB does with it.

I dont like it very much honestly, because I dont think there have been enough seasons. Plus the way they divied out the available spots is too heavily weighted to the most recent seasons. They only picked 1 candidate from season 1 for example. And what, 4 or 5 from season 6?

I got sick and tired of Kaysar, Janelle, Howie, Ivette and that whole entire bunch.. and now they might come back? blah. I hope those people are NOT automatic, but being the freshest in peoples minds you're 99% certain to be right.

They picked way too many people from the most recent season, and they picked ones I really didnt like which for me, sucks, lol.

I will go and vote for everyone except season 6.

Sorry, this thread is too long

I agree with a lot of that Tom. I was hoping to see several more from seasons 1 and 2, but at the same time seeing players like Kaysar and Will in the house together might make for some interesting scenarios.

I felt a little cheated last night. I was thinking that Big Brother was really starting. I guessed that we would vote kind of like American Idol and Saturday we would see the people we voted for. I also thought it odd that they said we would vote for 3 women and 3 men. What about the other 6? CBS probably has them already picked out for the season.

As for the people that might be there, I would like to see Janelle and Howie (the Jedi) back. I would have liked to see Marvin as a choice.

As far as marketing, CBS seems to be thinking. By saying, tune in to The Early Show to see what the contestants are doing for the next 2 weeks was really smart. With Katie gone from The Today Show on NBC, the time is right for getting new viewers.

Anyway, it did piss me off to hear, "Tune in on July 7th to see who the contestants are".

I would love to meet 12 new people. Never been a fan of all star episdoes.

Since Big Brother started in Britain, can I say, on behalf of my country, "we are all very very sorry".

PR_Tom 2006-06-22 08:32 PM

I agree, Jim. Tune in on July 7th? Thanks for eating up an hour on a clip show! lol

I thought she said last night that Big Brother started in the US and was now being played all over the world. BS I guess?

It was actually created by a French company, but no French TV station was prepared to take up the idea, so they sold it to a British station who unleashed the evil on the world.

I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa in LA on new years a couple years ago and she is just a doll, I am pulling for her

ecchi 2006-06-23 04:22 AM

I'm curious does the US version get as 'raunchy' as the UK version. Over here it sometimes stops just short of becoming pornographic (no 'action' actually seen, but things like one contestant giving another a blowjob under the blankets happen). Most people watch it hoping to see this sort of thing. I cannot see American television getting as bad as that, but I also cannot see how the format survives more than a couple of series without that sort of thing to liven it up.

Greenguy 2006-06-23 05:55 AM

I had to avoid this thread yesterday because I had BB TiVo'd :)

I only really want 2 of them in there - James & Jase.

If Bunky & his unshaven back or Cowboy & his slack-jawed yokel self are on there this season, I might be vomiting a lot during the show.

Big Brother is the television equivilant of aerosol cheese. You guys really do need to improve your tastes. If you have time to watch that mind numbing drivel, you don't work hard enough.

Greenguy 2006-06-23 11:36 AM

But I like aerosol cheese.....|couch|

That is a mean thing to say, eating aerosol cheese is a lot more fun than watching Big Brother.

PR_Tom 2006-06-23 12:51 PM

I seriously only started watching it because Survivor is not on until the fall. The summertime shows are usually pretty lame, but this year there are some interesting ones.
Treasure Hunter is very much like Amazing Race. The new Rock Star (Supernova) series *could* be good..

LOL... I had to look and see if aerosol cheese was real or not, and it is!

But there's worse TV out there. Much worse.

BB is back on in the UK..we have two girls in it who have made porn films currently in it.

I have been friends with a girl from the first ever UK BB for years. She is the stunning blond who appears in two films on my site.

Ex BB star (I use the term loosly) content sells well here

Before Big Brother
"Nichola Holt, a textile artist, was the fourth person to be evicted, as Claire Strutton, a florist, entered the house in place of the disqualified "Nasty Nick"."
After Big Brother
"Nichola and Sada had a brief relationaship in 2001. Nichola supported Gabrielle on tour and released a single called "The Game" which flopped. She has since become a porn star."

JohnnyRS 2006-06-30 05:26 PM

I'm a big fan of Big Brother and I'll be sure to watch it this year. I want a good mix of nice people and evil people in the house so it will be fun to watch. I really hope George from BB1 gets in so we can see how he plays the new BB with new rules. I watch BB from the UK and Australia also so I'm going to be busy watching all these shows every day.

Nichola Holt has also been exposed by the press here in the UK as an escort

It seems appearing on the show seems to have an adverse effect on the contestants.

Would anyone here want to go into the BB house?

Some of my best friends are 'escorts' and porn actresses. Explain why this is "an adverse effect".
