Pre-made text recips - FS submitters and LL owners look here

Getting more and more submits that use custom text link recips lately and because some of them misslead the links ( they don't look like those in the table recips ), I decided I should build a page with pre-made text recips that would be useful for my FS submitters and would also save them time and they wouldn't have to worry about the fact that their custom links may not be affordable by the reviewer. The page I'm talking about is http://www.pornlisted.com/text-recips.shtml

I'm looking for some feedback from the FS submitters around here regarding this kind of pages ( containing pre-made recips ). Would you find it usefull or not? Would it save you time or not?

Now, I'd like some feedback from the other LL owners on GG&J, what do you think about this? Shouldn't we all build such a page for all our LLs and make FS submitters' lifes easier?

good idea, but I've seen before some link-lists already offering both general table/txt recips to chose from.

Sexvilly, I'm not going to copyright this idea :D, neither do I say I'm the first who's implementing it :).

If there were/are other LLs offering text recips then it's a good and useful thing :).

I'm glad you're finding this idea good for time saving japamor :). Thank you for your feedback.

This is my favorite reference that UW put together.. The problem is, IMO, is the upkeep since some owners keep changing the look of their links but i still use it as a catagory reference when ever i go to submit a site.

Hey Doc, I think you forgot the link |huh

Anyway, the only problem I have with doing what you did alessandro, is that I have a feeling there would be some submitters that would just grab my unstyled text recip because it looks cleaner and then put my unstyled recip right next to all the other styled recips from other linklists, making my sites recip not very eye-catching and looking like it was built by a chump who can't code a design.

Just something to think about.

Truth be told, it's my fullest intention to shut that site down. It would be gone by now if I wasn't so distracted by other more pressing projects. Updating the thing isn't difficult, but each time I remind myself to do so, I remember that I won't earn a cent doing it, so fuck it. |thumb

I had intended on expanding its use and purpose by creating an on-site recip generator for list owners which would pretty much do what MadMax's Recip Philes does, but each individual list's recips could be fed back to the owner's site via RSS - cd34's idea (I'm not that creative). So the recips would be controlled and updated in one place, by the owner, at my site, but they would display at both my site and the owner's.

I had also considered stripping everyone's recips down to their basic unstyled data and creating a script to pre-build entire recip tables. (Clickbuster's idea) My skills are lacking and again, no money can be made when you want it to remain a free service.

I still have some ideas, but that depends on what the future holds.

Off the top of my head, I know that Linkster's recips are way out of date and there's a few new categories out there that could be added.

In which case you'd probably refuse the site and politely tell him why|angry|
Its a mistake a submitter would only make once! :)

I built those text recips unstyled on purpose thinking that when a FS builder builds a site and he/she has a table with 15-20 columns to put the text recips in, ALL text recips within the table would be styled the same ( so they'd all receive the style applied to the tabel itself ).

so, maybe put a note somewhere around "allowed only if all the other recips are txt"?

I think I've been missunderstood :).

So, I have a page with table recips ( http://www.pornlisted.com/recips.shtml ) for those FS submitters who prefer table recips and a text recips page ( http://www.pornlisted.com/text-recips.shtml ) for those who prefer "custom recips" ( but, for saving them time and avoiding them to worry about the fact that their custom recips may not be liked by the reviewer I came up with that page of pre-made unstyled text recips ).

I think it's great alessandro! The choice is there for how ever we like to use recipts |thumb I need to get my ass in gear and do the same thing.

UW don't shut down linklistpro please I use it with every freesite I make, I find it very useful!

I've always used text only recips...no tabling...nothing fancy. Yea, sometimes my recip looks pretty limp when next to the fancy schmancy ones. But, I really don't care since I don't count on much traffic coming through recips anyway.

The other downside to plain text is sometimes my recip is invisible if the submitter didn't take the time to pre-view their site. Obviously, I don't decline for mine being plain...I designed it that way. I do decline for invisible recips however, since that's obviously someone who's not even bothering to check their site |banghead|
