All Text?
 

I am curious if any one knows how all text and text only blogs do? Do you really need to have pictures or some kind of visulization to make it interesting or interesting enough to keep them coming back?

I know it helps but in some instances, it's not possible or could make it look less "real". If that makes sense.

One of my blogs is almost entirely text, I use very very few images in the posts themselves. It's pretty niche specific, which helps obviously, but in my own case, yeah, it does pretty well. That's not to say I don't have links to FHGs/Freesites, just a distinct lack of images apart from some sidebar buttons.

I have been playing with one of my blogs where I do every other post as just text. It is a fetish related blog so it allows me to be very descriptive in the posts. I am seeing higher click throughs on the text only posts but I am not sure if people would come to the blog as often if all the posts were only text.

Thanks for the reply Jel, good to hear the text only is working, encouraging. Guess I was wondering as it's been said that guys are more visual, well maybe it's a way to tap the female market...:)

Thats the big question, if too many would find it boring as there is nothing to "look" at. Also makes you wonder how many surfers read or like to read compared to how many have to have some visulization.

Yeah, I have wondered about the entries where I describe a picture and then post the pic how many of my surfers actually read the description. I suspect not all that many. I tend to feel I am writing to turn google on more than the surfer who is just clicking on the pic.

I don't have any experience here but I would think that if the text blog was a serial so that people get hooked and have a reason to follow what was going on, then it would do pretty well.

Also, I think a diary type, sort of what your doing with your prostitute blog would work as text only. Guys are interested in the life of....porn stars, prostitutes, strippers, etc. as long as there is lots of juicy tidbits and plenty of sex.

But, sex stories, I would question. I like reading a story once in awhile but it would be the type of the site I'd probably rarely visit.

It's not really stories but I dont want to say yet, till I get it working...;)
