Questions about user posibilities in WP

I've set up a blog for a camsite where camsters can have some sort of diary. Each diary would be a subcategory of the category "Diaries" like "Diary of Suzy", "Diary of HotPussy".

I've got 2 questions:
1. Is it possible to give a camster only rights to post in their own subcategory?
2. Is it possible to include a standard piece of html code in each post like a link to the camster's profile on the camsite? This code should be set standard and should be unique per subcategory so the camsters don't have to add this link themselves.

Thanx in advance.

I have no idea how to do this inside one WP blog, so I hope someone else can show you a way to do it. But since I don't know how to do it, I thought about how to get the result without knowing how.

I'm thinking it might be possible (but maybe too much work?) to do this by setting up a simple, stripped down blog for each camster. Each stripped blog would have just one category, their own "Diary of Camster" category. The standard post format could be edited to include the standard profile code for that camster. Then you could feed the RSS feeds of the individual camster blogs into your real blog, where they'd appear in the 'subcategories' where you want them.

Obviously, a custom-coded solution inside one WP blog would be ideal. So this is just a workaround suggestion in case you don't find another way.

I too, don't know the direct answer to your question but have you looked into WordpressMU. It's the multi-user version which would let you setup hosted blogs. In my demented way of thinking you could setup a blog on the main page with feeds and then each camstar could have a hosted blog on a sub. Feed the main blog with the camstar blogs and I think you may have created something close to what your looking for.

Not sure if you've solved your problem or not but I was looking around for some other type of plugins and ran across this one. Thought you might be interested http://rephrase.net/box/word/multiply/
