No link-o-rama confirmation email

I submitted my site http://asian-bliss.com/lust4asians over 24 hours ago and did not get a confirmation email like I used to. anybody know what's up? did my site get rejected?

Bill 2006-07-15 04:22 AM

when that happens, it's usually one of two things...

one, is that you submitted before the 24 hour delay was up.

or two, somehow your domain got blacklisted for a rules violation.

you can check for blacklisting at www.bl.usefulscripts.com

Bill 2006-07-15 04:28 AM

ooops, i forgot, I don't think it works with the www.

Thanks for the info. How long does it take to get a response?

Bill 2006-07-18 05:00 PM

It depends a bit on the reason you got blacklisted, and how well known you are as a submitter.

If you did something really forbidden, you are shit outtta luck. get a new domain and start again, and don't do whatever it was that you did.

If it was a 404, you might ask politely here to have the blacklisting lifted, explaining why a page went 404.

If it was roman moroni, or however it is they spell that, I'm just not sure, I have no experience with that.

No matter what, getting a new domain, and not doing whatever it is they say you did, is a viable solution.

It don't think it was forbidden...It could have been 404...I lost a lot of my sites when I moved servers a while ago. Where do I ask politely if that is the case?

Bill 2006-07-18 10:05 PM

You do it in this link lists and getting listed forum - start a thread with a title like "Could I be unblacklisted on this domain?", list your domain, list the reason that usefulscripts gives (it's not always obvious, and sometimes is left out), if you think you know why you got a 404, say so, and see what happens.

And, remember, new domains are only $10, and it's good to have several domains.

I've been blacklisted on domains before for 404s caused by server hard drive problems. But, if you just took sites down without an announcement, it might not be possible to get unblacklisted.

All you can do it file an appeal & the person that put you on there will review it (I'm not the only one that uses this blacklist)

I've also stopped getting confirmation E-mails from Link-O-Rama |confused| Checked that blacklist link and got this message:
1 matching Block found.
Reason: bad se implications (I have NO idea what that means)
Sent the appeal... Although it doesn't say 'who' the appeal is going to.
Is it you by chance? If so... Let me know what changes to make...
Thanks!

Just an FYI - the blacklists & the email confirmations have nothing to do with each other. The script sends out a confirmation email to everyone & then goes to the blacklist to do it's little search.

Fulyngu - "bad se implications" probably means that one or more of the major SE's has blacklisted your domain, which means it's a bad idea for anyone to link to you ad far as SE purposes & implications.

Doh!
Does that have any affect as to the free sites I submit to you getting listed? (I hope not |sad| )

Of course it does. Don't submit sites on that domain anymore. Start submitting sites on a different domain which isn't blacklisted by any SEs. Also, try and figure out why you have been blacklisted by Google so you can avoid it in the future.

I'm not sure if I understand what you are saying here GG, but, the last time I wrote to get a domain unblacklisted thru usefulscripts, the way I knew the domain probably had troubles, was because there was no confirmation email from you.

This wasn't that long ago, so unless you've made a change pretty recently, I'm pretty certain that your script doesn't send a confirmation email if it finds the domain on bl.usefulscripts.

Greenguy 2006-07-20 04:00 PM

I will certainly look into that, as it is supposed to send the email & then go look at the blacklist.

Bill 2006-07-20 04:31 PM

Uh Oh - now I've messed it up for everybody. ;-}

Fulyngu 2006-07-20 04:38 PM

Looks like all my free sites are gone from link-o-rama and gremlins |cry|
I would love to know why I was on that list in the first place so I can fix it and avoid future problems like this. I'm sure it's something ridiculously simple that I overlooked. Not even sure if it's Google... If it is... Then I should expect a reply to the appeal in the year 2073 right?
