TGP or LL?

Hello! Newbie here.

I have read a lot of documentation, but I can't make a right decision: TGP, or not TGP?

Is there any expireanced webmaster who could help me?

It's a tossup. I say go for it!

I heard that it's too difficult to start posting in TGP,
because of paid accounts.

I'm sorry, what's the question? Are you asking whether you should build galleries for TGPs or free sites for link lists instead?

Yeap! The traffic from link lists should be better than TGP's.

Yes, traffic from link lists is higher quality due to where it originates. Link list traffic is from search engines and from other link lists. Most TGP traffic is circle-jerked and therefore a much lower quality. You'd see a lot more traffic from TGPs, but it's mostly crap. There still are a few good TGPs though, that do not script their traffic trades or at least keep the skim down to a respectable level.

Really, how you choose to proceed will come down to your ability to convert traffic. Successful gallery builders have well-honed sales text and can produce sales from a single page. I was always awful at that. I chose free sites because it gave me more opportunity to employ different text strategies and banners on a single site (and much more of them). I tend to be a "throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" type of builder.

I agree with everything thats been said. I will add my $.01 to it too :)

I went with free sites instead of tgp galleries because:

1.) Link lists rules are pretty standard. Not so much with tgp's.

2.) Most (all for all I know) link lists are free to submit to. Alot of tgp's want paid submitters.

3.) Link lists get alot of search engine traffic and mostly trade links with only other link lists (sort of keeping it in the family).

4.) Link lists seem to be partnering with their submitters and will usually tell you what youre doing wrong if youre not getting listed.

do both

thats like a laundrymatt asking if they should only have washers or dryers

Useless 2006-07-19 11:14 PM

Gotta disagree. If he was starting up 6 years ago, sure - do both. But times, they have a' changed. I'd focus on learning and attempting one first. If it doesn't pan out, then switch to the other.

I agree. I build around three TGP galleries a day. I see what converts on TGP traffic, and turn that into a freesite. If it converts on TGP traffic once, it generally converts more than once on freesite traffic. Do both, and do much more than that.|jackinthe
