link trade etiquette?

i posted on this board some months ago requesting link trades.. several were set up..

since then i've noticed a few have removed the links from thier site while mine remain up..

i don't care if you think the link may not be productive enough for you and you want to remove it, but atleast let me know, that's just fucking rude to do it without notice.

cheers.

This is why I switched to a traffic script.

Syke,

Welcome to the world of link swapping and PR whores..

I check mine regularly, am now SUPER-selective with who I link to, and I regularly delete other linklists/tgps etc from my links.

adding FPA's
adding pop-ups
removing recips

all part of the game now..... |angry|

As did I and will continue to with any new sites.

If you don't send any, you just drop off the list until you do. It's really the only fair way.

I have also just opened a new link list and am looking for trades via the script. It's only a week old, but already getting about 12-15K uniques a day. I have some good trades inplace and it's easy to make the top 50. (Hell, it's pretty easy to make the top 10..lol)

If your interested in a trade, let me know.

p.s

i'm not talking about traffic trading

No it's not proper etiquette to do that. There is NO need of someone pulling a link! You agree to trade links, end of story! It's not a traffic trade, it's a link trade. Period.

I think it will be the proper etiquette in this case to let your link partners know that you delete their links.

This is the reason that I no longer have an other links category.

I have a table at the top of my main page for friends, but it is done through a script so if someone wants to take down a link it is not a problem.

It is still a link exchange, just done though a script.

Yahook the day the idiots let me know that they added the pop-up or the FPA then I will let them know! Till them they just get deleted, blacklisted and all their links removed.

Yanook
You shouldn't half quote someone. DangerDave clearly was implying removing sites that have added popups or other rule breaking things that were not there when the trade was agreed upon.

I hate dickhead link removers. Cross me one time, and you are done. End of story.
