Official Florida is Fucked and Internext too thread

|hurricane
I'm blaming this whole mess on Internext since it is this weekend right when the hurricane is suppose to hit.

I've got my fuel, food, and water for the storm. Sure glad that I didn't get around to buying my Internext tickets yet.

Anyone that shows up in my driveway this year after the storm better bring their own food, water, and lots of money to bribe me with.

Damn, I was going to come to the show this year too :)

Everytime I check the updated path projection it seems to be a little further south. At this time the path passes close to the tip of the Keys but does not make landfall and passes on into the gulf. I may be dealing with it when I get back home after the show.

Yeah Katrina went south of Fort Lauderdale too. Still knocked out our power for almost a week and fallen trees blocked all the roads out of my neighborhood for a few days.

Personally I'm betting that the storm will get over the warm Atlantic waters and get much stronger and larger.

I would hate to be living with Simon right now.

Yeah... like the storm would be the worst thing. :)

Meanwhile, I don't like that storm track at all, and I'm wishing I was up on a mountain already.

I thought you were on the mountaintops in Marathon, didn't know you were in the foothills.

Just another day of prep here.... still planning to hit internext for 2 of the 3 days to meet with some clients and prospective clients.

I think based on what I was seeing on a few different reports and projected paths, I think the Keys will get sideswiped and hopefully won't get too much damage. We shall see.

Will Hurricane Chris hit Internext this weekend? We'll tell you about it at 11!

digifan 2006-08-02 02:37 PM

We are having tornadoes and insane amounts of rain again flooding us and ruining towns, cars, forests etc.. and everything in valleys :(

Cleo 2006-08-02 02:43 PM

Chris and Chris may be the only two attendants at this year's Internext.

I decided to stay home...

If the Keys had mountains I'd stay here forever, but the highest point in the Keys is only about 18 feet above sea level.

Usually sideswiping is all it takes down here, but I'm up for that "won't get too much damage" idea.

I think it needs to go blow Castro off Cuba for good.
