Do you think it's bad to use the word "Euro" when marketing Euro content?

Have any of you had this same experience....

1. You push a site like one of the perfectgonzo sites and it converts like crazy...all of the stuff is shot in Europe, it's shot well, and the girls are SMOKING.

2. You push a site with very similar content, but the word "euro" somewhere in the title and it doesn't sell as well.

Anyone else had this happen? Do you think it's better to just let the hot chicks sell the site and not to pigeon-hole it?

I guess it doesn't matter where the girls are comming from - so no reason to mention they are from Europe. But, the problem could be, if it's shot in Hungaria or Czech, that most of the models are well know (as they are used by everyone) and nobody believe in the site

I think it depends on your approach:

positive: Some people actualy search on SE's for "euro girls" or something similair, so that's good I think

negative: Maybe surfers who have seen lots of crappy "euro" sites might not be interested. Or they might associate it with the currency in Europe :)

Of course if the traffic you send to the converting and the non-converting page come from different sources, it might not even be the euro word causing the conversion difference. Or it might even be the link that leads them to it that makes a difference.

Hell, what do I know?! It might be anything :D

Might even be connected to foreign charge back rules. Like the people looking for "euro" may be European, and we know how much the cc processors love them.

I'm not sure that most Americans realise that almost all of the non-surgically enhanced working girls come from Europe. The ones that do may know more about the market place then the ones that think they all come from Nebraska.

IMO it is important to differentiate between euro performers and euro content.

In the performer case (and speaking solely as a porn fiend) I'd say “euro” will hurt you because, even though the girls are very hot, they tend to show the same enthusiasm that I display when I’m on my way to the dentist (exceptions do exist but are few and far between, mainstream europorn is particularly bad on that score).

In the content case, it might help you to identify it as “euro” because we Europeans have a much larger spectrum of perversions that can be covered legally. So the costumer who's after the more extreme kinks should be more receptive to the "euro" lable.

I agree that the Euro girls are hot as hell. Most of what I have shot comes from there.

And I'm not sure it matters really overall how you push it. It's the site/content that sells.

IMO American surfers want all-American looking girls. Americans in general seem to resist globalization, and crave what is familiar to them.

Of course this is simply my experience...

In my experience the term "euro" as related to porn is indicative of some of the more extreme stuff. ie.. the stuff that can't be had in the US.

So if you're marketing that type of material, then go ahead and use Euro.
Otherwise, I'm not sure it makes such a difference.

That's a pretty good point.
