OMG, watching Fox news about this terrorist plot they thwarted of the people planning on blowing up planes from London to US with some kind of liquid agent.

I'm supposed to fly back home in the next month or so, but sounds like flying is going to be a pain now. In the UK, you can't take any carryon items on the plane now? Not purses, no liquids, nothing. Sounds like LA is doing it, wonder if the rest of the airports are going to do this too?

I've been watching the BBC, but Security Watchtower (a sort of neo-intel blog) has some of the nuances that even the Beeb has been slow to pick up on. (Like the entire thing being launched off with arrests in Pakistan.) Dutch media, of course, is shrieking for ten seconds then resuming normal programming (there's a frog outbreak in the countryside).

Oh, and NO, zero...none...nada liquids of any kind can be carried on. I almost never check a bag and opt for carry on only so no liquids for me.

Nataliya and Tatiana will be flying back through London next week. I was a little concerned until I watched the All Spin Zone tonight and it was all about how American has to move right now and support Dubya because he's only allowed us to be attacked once.

It still makes me nervous even though I'm sure it's all an election ploy.

The only carry on I have is my laptop. Now I will have to put it in my checked luggage. I don't think so. I will never pack it in luggage where others that do not give a crap throw your stuff around or rifle thru it.

Plan on going to Georgia next month. Guess I will have to burn what I need on to a CD(non adult business) and use my families PC or borrow a laptop. Might even have to go old school and just use pencil and paper. |banghead|

You can carry food and drinks for babies, as long as you test drink it infront of the security personell.
I doubt MI5 would be involved in a US election plot of this magnitude.


My parents just got back from London couple of days ago and they're quite happy that they didn't have to deal with all this :)

I heard about this and it seems to be real. It was mostly thwarted by the British with some pakistani intellegence help.

You can have carry on but no liquids other than baby food/breast milk type thing. At first they were allowing no cell phones, laptops or anything.

The list I saw in the paper this morning, the US airports are still allowing laptops, cellphones, etc... but the British airports aren't allowing any electronics at all.

Of course, the lists are always subject to change, but not allowing laptops in carry ons would play hell with business travel. A lot of people would react just like, JustRobert... "I don't think so. I will never pack it in luggage where others that do not give a crap throw your stuff around or rifle thru it."

flight time
time to get your baggage and rent a car
traval to hotel

for short flights why even bother flying

even if its like a 8 hour drive
with all the time and bullshit I think your much better off driving
